So, I have been extremely ill and my husband doesn’t do a lot of cooking. I have severe allergic reactions to eggs. Think up all night with debilitating body cramps. My husband is not as familiar with ‘Jew-ish’ food as I am. I should not have believed him when he said the Latkes don’t have eggs. Most of the doughs are likely enriched with eggs as well. My husband was at least present enough to ask and was told no eggs. All it took to make me even more miserable with this illness was one bite. Skeptical, I only took one bite and was pretty sure I tasted egg so spat it out. Nope, that’s right, didn’t even swallow it. What ensued within 3 hours was nothing but pure hell. Leg cramps, Back cramps, arm cramps, worsened coughing, floods more of mucous. I was exhausted already and needed to eat something (not that this has been easy) after a full week of not even being able to lie down. I am posting this review this way, to educate and encourage management to apprise their staff of potential allergens and the damage that they do when food borne allergic reaction is inadvertently or ignorantly misrepresented. Had I an anaphylactic type reaction to eggs, I could literally be dead right now. Fortunately, I only feel like I am going to die when I get into them. Ya, that is what I needed though! Almost full body cramps on top of the almost constant, if I even dare to try and lie down, violent coughing fits. Know your product line and just do better. This review will remain as a warning for those of us with severe food intolerances to take an extra look and for the management to make sure that all of their employees are actually proactively informed of the actual ingredients being used.
Because my immune function has already been hit hard with whatever nasty illness I acquired, I am sure completely inflaming my system by taking a bite of something that was described as ‘Vegan’(no, not personally one of those) and spitting it out because I was skeptical of the taste probably impeded my recovery of this illness and made me even more miserable.
I won’t be calling this mother again...
Read moreVery rarely do I leave negative reviews for small businesses, but I left today so disappointed. I gave 3 stars mostly because the service was amazing and it was super cute inside, but overall the food was just mediocre. I am from the east coast and bagels were a staple in my childhood diet. I feel like I have hunted for amazing bagels out in Denver for the last decade of living here, but I am still better off flying home and bringing home bagels from Bagels & Beyond in NJ and freezing them to eat here.
This was my first visit in to Call Your Mother and I heard time and time again that these are the BEST bagels! Better than Rosenberg. Not sure if it was overhyped or I just came in on a bad day, but this bagel was a 3/10 at most. And that Is being generous. The bagel itself was thin and flat. Absolutely no doughy texture. Just overall not even a good quality bagel from the grocery store let alone from a bagel deli. I will give the actual sandwich (the thunderbird) a 6/10 because the flavor profile was unique and tasty, but even then it wasn’t anything to write home about.
I also ordered an iced chai latte with whole milk and it was super watered down.
On top of the food being a miss, the music in here was so loud I couldn’t hear myself think. Nothing can make me feel older than complaining about this, but next to me was a staff interview and they literally had to scream over the music just to hear each other. It was incredibly overstimulating and I immediately regretted not sitting outside on the patio where it was a more normal volume. The decor and looks of the place is super cute, but being insta worthy is more than just looks. I was sad that this place really missed the mark.
Overall I am super bummed about the experience since this spot is on my way to our daughter’s school for the next 10+ years. I was hoping this would be a regular stop on our way to school, but I’m going to have to find somewhere else for...
Read moreI hate to leave bad reviews but poor customer service/not listening can really affect the entire experience. I’ll leave 2 stars because the food was good, yet fairly overpriced for a bagel sandwich with bacon egg and cheese. I placed an online order and mistakenly ordered two sandwiches instead of one. I called within maybe 3 minutes of placing the order and asked if they had started my order yet to which they said no. I asked them to only make one, as I only needed one and apologized for my error. The girl on the phone then says “I’ll get my manager to refund the other one I guess” what do you mean you guess? Needless to say I already knew that wasn’t going to happen. I get to the store to pick up my order, not one of the 3 people working even acknowledged my existence, and it wasn’t incredibly busy. I waited and my order was placed at the pickup counter, I tried to catch the girls attention to ask about refunding the second sandwich and she turned around so fast she couldn’t even be bothered. I picked up my bag only to realize two sandwiches were in there so out of frustration I just took it and left because it’s not worth getting mad on a Sunday morning about. I spent $23 on a breakfast for just me and have extra food I’ll likely end up throwing out now. It is insane to me though that you expect a tip but can’t even acknowledge your customers or listen to them. I know I’ll never be returning here. That’s what I get for trying something...
