Mexican seafood place in a small strip center. The food here was great. The salsa was spicy without being too hot. The tacos turned out to be one of the best shrimp tacos I've ever had - hot & fresh. The refried beans and rice were both very good. The salad was very fresh. The menu includes many other interesting choices. Given the quality of this meal, maybe an octopus dish or the red snapper next time.
Service was very good. It was both friendly and prompt. Other members of the staff thanked me on the way out after the meal. The space was clean and fairly basic. The music was lively but slightly to loud. They had TVs on the wall, some showing a soccer match.
It's easier to access if you're driving eastbound on Leetsdale. The parking lot is fairly small, but there were spaces available.
Will definitely be...
Read moreA restaurant should be reviewed if the food is exceptional at either end of the spectrum; leave the middle of the road places be. Mariscos el Charco would stand its ground in Sinaloa, the home ground of Ricardo and Flavia, the owners of this exceptional Mexican restaurant. In addition to the outstanding seafood dishes, you can get the standard fare that you would expect to find at any Mexican restaurant: tacos, enchiladas and so forth. Sit down and relax with a drink, starting with the Chilada, and then order from the menu of varied selections, starting with the seafood specialties, and ranging over your favorite Mexican dishes. Whatever you choose to order, you won’t be disappointed, because everything is delicious and authentic. They were particularly kind to Jinx, my Service Dog, especially when she became ill and passed away.

I live really close to here and I’ve been wanting to try this forever. We finally went in craving ceviche cuz it’s freaking hot out and it did not disappoint. That piña ceviche was perfect for a hot day. Aguachiles and the camarones con crema chipotle were equally amazing—the latter reminded me of a smoked Gouda . Warning the portions are HUGE. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach.
