My family and I have been coming to Park Burger for over 15 years. We don't eat out often, but Park Burger has been a staple of our rotation. However, after our experience this afternoon, I doubt we will be coming back. The service was the worst I've experienced in the last several years. We were greeted shortly after walking in during a very slow time. The hostess was unenthusiastic and barely managed a hello. From there it only got worse. We sat for close to 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to offer drinks or appetizers. Obviously by then we were ready to order. We placed our order and after a reasonable amount of time our burgers came out. However, our truffle fries and onion rings were not included with the burgers. The server said that the truffle fries were on the way. They did arrive shortly thereafter, however our onion rings! Rings! Still had not arrived. They said that there was a mix-up and that they would get them to us as quickly as possible. After another 5 minutes or so the onion rings arrived. It was disappointing that they did not offer to take them off of the bill after having to wait so long for them to come to the table Food was okay but not as good as we have come to expect the part Burger. One of the part burgers that are table ordered medium came out well done. Was a little dry. Additionally, the truffle fries had Parmesan dumped into the middle of it in about 1/3 of the fries, small bits. Once we were finished eating, we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to stop by our table to ask. We needed anything else. We asked for the check and received it promptly. After receiving the check, we waited another 10 minutes for someone to pick up our payment. Finally, after waiting around I walked the bill and payment card up to the wait station. The server asked how everything was. I began to share a little bit of our extreme disappointment with the service and she acted completely disinterested in hearing anything I had to say. Overall, one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in quite a while. I doubt if we will be back...
Read moreYo what can I say about park burger but how much I freaking love it! This place is always busy. Always! And it's kinda crammed at the front host stand but everybody is super nice and will get you on a list. If you're by yourself there's always a spot at the open seating bar. It's definitely a family place so bar availability is there but limited. You'll just have to get cozy next to sweet older couples having a glass of wine and a basket of fries. The last couple I sat next to must have been in there mid 60s. They seemed super nice when I asked for the ketchup they passed the mustard too! The atmosphere is bright and has an open kitchen. It has a sorta retro feel with cool cow art. But once I got this bugger, oh mama! I come here often and always get the same thing. A friggin American staple! The Park Burger burger with cheese, medium. Make sure when they ask if you want the park burger sauce you say 'yes please!' And don't forget the please! Then I order a basket of truffle fries. You will smell that wonderful truffle before it hits the table in front of you. They do put a lot in so I'm totally not complaining. But get ready to make a little of a mess playing Jenga with the fries. The burger is arguably one of the best burgers I've had in Denver. See, every 2 bit burger place can talk about how fresh and not frozen their USDA prime beef is or how fresh their veggies are. But nobody talks about what makes up 2/3s of an American hamburger! The buns! And Park Burgers buns are looking (and tasting) goood. They get it. They have a fluffy butteriness to them like a croissant, in hamburger bun form and a non flakey crust. It absorbs a lot of the juices but still maintains shape. The beef is great and the Park Burger sauce seems to be some sort of sweet horseradish sauce. I come here often and decided to give it the praise it deserves! If you see someone sitting by themselves at the bar. With a cold beer, truffle fries and a Park Burger with cheese... Make sure and pass them the ketchup 10/10 Has corn hole boards...
Read moreI've been to Park Burger only once before, I enjoyed the first time and was excited because the manager on duty was so warm and welcoming, she took my to go order herself and seemed genuinely happy to see me at what appeared to me a slow lunch.
This time I was greeted by another warm smile from the server on duty (she introduced herself as Bri) a young woman with blonde hair that made me instantly feel like coming back was the right move from the second I walked in. I ordered $56.70 worth of food to go and while I sat she offered me a single togo bev or water to drink while I waited for my food. I asked for a coke and she promptly got it for me. It wasn't long (my small coke was barely halfway finished) before I saw her boxing up my order.
I began writing this review as she did that, but I'm going to finish it at home; because the manager on duty (a portly, bespectacled, middle aged man with brown hair if I remember correctly) came up behind her while she was boxing up my order and loudly told her to stop "giving away sodas" almost word for word in an annoyed tone. I couldn't hear her response because she was speaking at a much quieter volume in the fairly empty restaurant, but it appeared like she responded politely but seemed confused by the very anti hospitality oriented command. She resumed boxing my food and he just lingered there behind her for an awkward length of time before adding (again not quietly) "because I'm fat and it means I have to change the boxes more often. haha" in a slightly less annoyed tone but it was clear that he was being serious about the beverage.
TLDR: I loved the food and the service from the Server (Bri) but this kind of weird behavior from a manager makes me want to never come back to this location and possibly any Park Burger because this sort of cheap and very inhospitable management is the WORST part of going out to eat these days. Which is a shame because the food was very good and again so...
