Just a heads up to go there early...or don't be intimidated by the line out the door. They have a good process, and it will move faster than it looks. I personally had the Sun City with pastrami. I recommend putting garlic cream cheese on it also. It was a good-sized sandwich with a good helping of pastrami. It was solid, and we will go there again to try more. It was our first trip, so I need to leave it at a 4 for now, but perhaps my next visit will advance that rating. For the amount of people there, just know it is more of a to go place rather than a dine in place in my book...which of course keeps the personality of a deli...so all good. Definitely recommend as it is a 4 and change for me, and see you there. Well, with the amount of people loving this place, you will see everyone.
NEXT VISIT: I initially gave this four stars as my sample size was too small. I wanted to update this to five stars, as our last two to-go meals were great. I also wanted to include a better picture of the Sun City, along with pics of the place itself. We only get things to go, but know that it is a cool place to eat in also. The staff always is friendly and efficient with orders, and it appears to be a smooth running machine, whether busy or not. Cool street too, so you can go here and then do the walk. And only call your mother if you are telling her that she should go here to. Definitely recommend and see you there.
MOST RECENT VISIT: Let's make this officially a five star review. I finally deviated from the Sun City (if you haven't had it, then don't), and got the Jet Ski. Although I might do the thing on the Everything bagel because I am being greedy, I admit that the Jet Ski, not only is the coolest name for a bagel, but trumps the Sun City (barely). Staff is awesome, don't be scared of the line (moves fast), and I definitely recommend this place and will see you there. My wife loves the coffee drinks from here, and we don't even drink coffee. I recommend doing a bagel here, eating here, and then going to the best dive bar in Denver, Berkeley Inn. But, back to my point, get the Sun city first, and then the Jet Ski.
MOST RECENT VISIT: I thought I tasted heaven already with the Sun City, but my wife made me order something different. So, I did. Sit down, folks. The Jet Ski is a work of art that you need to sit down for. Seriously. Don't believe me? Cool. You will take a bite and fall on your a&^. Be cooler than me, but know this. I will simply live the rest of my life and flip a coin between the Sun City and the Jet Ski, and you will be eternally lost. You will wander the streets of Tennyson and wonder why you just didn't order one of the two bagels I told you to. Good luck. Thank you, place, and if the next Jet Ski is as good as today's, I just might Call My Mother. Definitely recommend and see you there...briefly, as we always order it to go. I am a tall, goofy curly hair guy who reviews every place I...
Read moreThe staff were very friendly, helpful, and patient, even when they were busy. My partner got overwhelmed by the menu, but the cashier was nice and reassured them to take their time. They helped us with picking a vegetarian option and were willing to do a variety of bagels for the dozen pack.
The bagels themselves were very tasty (Thunderbird & Mountain View). The Thunderbird had a nice glaze, and the Mountain View had a hasbrown on it, which my partner said made it a great savory option. The Strawberry White Chocolate cold brew was alright, but Im sure avid coffee drinkers would love it more than me. We kept saying to each other, "damn this is good"! I also LOVE that they use stickers to distinguish what you ordered. The amount of times we have had to bite into each others food to figure out which is which is maddening, but this made it easy to divy out food to the right person! Great for groups or work meals.
The atmosphere was great. The music wasn't too loud to talk over, and the tables were fairly clean. The staff were out wiping down tables after each group left to keep it clean. There was a good variety of seat options (metal chairs, benches, wooden lawn chairs).
Overall, we spent ~$70, including tip, on two sandwiches (13.50 each), a desert, a drink (5.50), and a dozen bagels. It was fairly expensive, but it seemed worth it for the most part. I think the sandwiches would be more fairly priced at 10 or 11, and the drink at 4, but it is what it is. The dozen was a great price! From my partner and I,...
Read moreLiving a half mile from this place, I have given it 4 tries. But today was my last visit.
First off, the bagels are about Einstein Bros. level, if that. If the flavor combos inside their sandwiches were good, or if they cost less than $10.50, this place would be a go to in the neighborhood.
But every bagel sandwich I've had from here has been lacking in flavor. I had tried the Sun City (tried bacon and pastrami) and the Mountain View. So today, I decided to pivot and go with the Royal Palm which is a lox, schmear, tomato, capers, onion situation.
I figured if anything would be flavorful enough, it'd be this.
What I got was a 5 inch thick bagel sandwich impossible to eat with about 2 inches of cream cheese. I am not shy about the amount of cream cheese I like on my bagels but this was insanity. Besides the overall construction being impossible to keep together, who on earth wants to eat that much cream cheese in one bagel?
Do not recommend this place at all. If you want good bagels nearby, go to Rich Spirit or Get Rights. If you want a breakfast sandwich,...
