El Alamo — Restaurant in Denver

I was referred to this restaurant by a neighbor who said they had great food. Their carnitas tacos were very tasty but the meat was not moist - but quite dry. Their salsas were a little too hot with pepper flavor for me - so I was unable to compensate for the dry meat by adding extra salsa. The cashier did not have a good command of English and I speak no spanish so that was challenging. It is basically a neighborhood restaurant with lots of customers of Hispanic descent. I was the only Caucasian person in the restaurant. It is just a little uncomfortable when most people in a restaurant avoid eye contact with me - and are not friendly. It is only natural to feel as if I am invading another cultures social space. I have had this experience before on a few occasions - and it always happens in small neighborhood restaurants. It did not offend me - this is a reality in our world today. The few times this has happened to me - has given me an appreciation for how individuals from minority social groups must feel when they go into predominantly white social gatherings. I have been going to this place for years, every time we went it was super delicious & always hit the spot. Recently I had went and the worker was so rude, I brushed it off put in our order and we went to go sit down. As soon as we seat ourselves I look down and see multiple dead roaches on the floor. This has never happened to me before and I’ve been going here for YEARS! i was disgusted and just confused. We moved to another area but when I went to grab salsa I seen nats flying everywhere inside of the salsas. Again this has never happened before so I just paused and was truly devastated. I know this I have order from her 3 time . Everytime I have they have forgotten some and first time they didn't put my pig foot I asked about Claudia (a rude worker ) says they can't do anything until the owner gets back .
