I’m back at DIA! As promised after the City Wok debacle, here is the next restaurant review. I loved Garbanzo! There were so many great Mediterranean options and each were delicious! I had the Falafel bowl. It had crispy Lettuce, flavorful tomatoes, fiery red onions, cooling babaganosh, grilled peppers and white onions, and 5 small slightly dry falafels which soaked up the tzatziki and green tahini sauce. All that on a bed of wonderful and perfectly cooked yellow rice. Those flavors danced in my nose, made my taste buds beg for more, and coated my belly with rich flavors. If you go to any restaurant in DIA, please take yourself to this place. Read moreI’m confused how this place has a 4 star rating. The food is sub par even if it’s not awful for airport food. The price is also pretty inflated. Just go to the CFA next door.
It is a Mediterranean restaurant with a menu item “traditional gyro” that the employees seemingly don’t know how to make. A poor elderly man ordered the gyro and the person didn’t know which bread-type item to choose. He didn’t know if he should put lettuce in the wrap, vegetable mix, rice, etc. he kept asking the man and the man said well I just want however it normally comes.
I had a similar experience and they were surprised when all I wanted in my gyro was lettuce, onion, and sauce (other than meat).
They then have the tip options set to 10, 15, or 20% for you to tell them how to prepare their own menu items....
Read moreNovember 2023: I like falafel sandwiches and was hopeful that this place would be good. I normally like the falafel sandwich on lavash so I tried their wrap.
Overall, was okay. Expectations are lowered because this is an airport. I'll give it four ⭐ because it was decent.
First, the wrap is like a tortilla instead of a lavash. Could be better if they used a better wrap. Ingredients that I chose with my falafel were pretty tasty. I chose taiziki, pickled onions, rice, regular hummus, cucumber and tomato, and grain.
I also made it a meal and I got chips and a water ($4.50 extra). I had thought the sign said I'd get hummus too. But the cashier said all I would get are the chips. (Which by the way, was too salty.)
Would I come back again? Maybe. But I would choose a different...
