University Hills now has an incredible tasting Sushi Restaurant with an amazing customer service experience within walking distance of the light rail and Colorado Blvd. The atmosphere inside is cozy and pleasant with great lighting as well as decor. The menu is laid out beautifully with pictures of the unique dishes. Sashimi portions are thick, meaty, delicious portions presented so elegantly in a colorful (tiny lights) bowl full of crushed ice and an elephant ice sculpture. Once you finish your main meal your mouth is watering to have one of the tasty desserts to finish off the night. Or of course you can top of a great tasting meal with a Sake. Highly recommend!! Great location!! Our family has a new favorite restaurant where the customer service is top notch and all of the wait staff as well as sushi chefs are so genuine. The good news, staff was very nice and polite and the restaurant itself was clean and a fun environment. However, pretty much everything else fell short. I ordered the meat tenderloin with scallion appetizer. The picture showed a complete beef tenderloin. What I got was a thin strip of tenderloin wrapped around a bunch of diced onions with surprisingly little flavor. I asked for some sriracha and was charged $1.00 for a tiny bit!! Ive never been charged for a hot sauce. As for the nigiri sushi and hand roll, very pretty presentation and nice fish to rice ratio. However, the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail all had a strange and off putting taste, fishy, like it wasnt as fresh as it should have been. The Wasabi tobiko and Toro were delicious. absolutely fantastic experience in all aspects. would give it a 10 star rating for excellence if i could. i wish my visit had been longer, but i was coming from a trip and on a last minute mission to find a good, new (to me) yet fair priced spot and have late-ish dinner by myself. i’m 100000% bringing my friends next time though. and we’re coming earlier. and staying longer, and having sake - cause the hot sake options caused my mouth to water. customer service is outstanding; both waitresses who took care of me were extremely kind and helpful - even with me arriving solo just 30 min before they were supposed to close. so is the food! - super tasty, juicy, fast and well served. i took lots of leftovers home. the price is beyond fair for what you get, quality AND quantity wise. honestly! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! aaaand i will be back...
