Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Denver

I have been here TWICE in the last 4-6 weeks, and I had decided to let the first experience slide, UNTIL I went again and it was just as disappointing! The first visit, I got my hubby a burrito and me a bowl. My bowl leaked through the bag onto my passenger side seat, but of course I do not realize this UNTIL I pick up the bag, AND IT BREAKS! Inside my car!!! Unfortunately, I didn't get any real pics of the mess it made, but I was NOT happy! So needles to say, I had to change my shirt, wash up a bit and wipe down the mess in the car, before I ever sat down to eat!!!! Yes, I had to zap it, because it was cold! So, I recently returned on 3/17. The hubby & I both got burritos this time, I asked for my rice on the side, NOT A SIDE OF RICE, and hubby wanted his beans on the side, because he says they don't drain them all enough. So, I'm getting ready to pay, and I ask the girl, why am I being charged for just getting items on the side, NOT A SIDE of these items. She said, because if it's NOT ON the burrito, that's a side item! So, whatever! Even though we both burritos, I DID NOT place the bag on the seat, and it's a good thing! Bag broke again and there was a big spot on the bag! My burrito was so HORRIBLY put together, that it was like I had ordered it SMOTHERED in salsa! It was so ridiculous and messy I almost just quit eating it! Really not sure if we will...

4 star Update mid 2022: started working in the area again and this in my second visit this summer. New staff for the most part! Always seem to be training someone when I go. They are quick to get through the line and lobby is much cleaner. Quality of ingredients seem to be better prepared by new staff members again. They aren't rude but aren't the most friendly. Some room for improvement there!

1 star Update mid 2021: This Chipotle is extremely dirty. Every table was dirty. I ended up using sanitizer they had available to wipe one down myself. Staff wouldn't stop talking about a customer who left the line while his burrito was being made. They were doing this in front of a lobby full and it was just so uncomfortable. I could tell it was bugging others as well. The burrito rolling rolling was terrible. More like large balls they had to double wrap. The bowls werent much better. They didn't drain the ingredients with the slotted spoons long enough and I ended up with a soggy liquid filled bowl. I typically get extra cilantro which they told me they don't do this time around. Maybe a new policy? Also I had a QR reward for free queso I scanned twice and later found it still got charged.

I know businesses are having a tough time in the age of pandemic, but the service here tonight was next level bad.

We placed our order online around 6:15 PM with an estimated pickup time of 6:30. Arrived at 6:30 to a rather crowded dining room of people waiting for their online orders. Meanwhile, walk-in customers are getting in and out in under 5 minutes. They were placing online orders on the table and ignoring requests to announce the name to prevent everyone from having to crowd around and check to see if it was their order.

At 6:50, I asked if it might be a good idea to cancel my online order as a just go through the line. I was given an 800 number to call if I wanted to cancel the order. I also asked why the front end couldn't help with online orders since there was no line at this point, and was told "That's not how we do it. Only the back line can do online orders." Seems very anti-practical.

We're so very patient and not picky, especially right now. The way this store is being mismanaged is worthy of comment, though. They quite literally went out of their way to make it take longer to complete orders than was necessary.

After all that waiting, both our orders were missing guacamole and sour cream. I decided to complain with my feet rather than waiting another 45 minutes to get it fixed. I...
