The problem with review systems like this is that people can post whatever bogus story they want. The most recent 1 star review from, Zac, wasnât deserved by Queen City. If anyone should get a review, itâs me, a Queen City regular and human being. In his review, Zac said he was treated poorly for not wearing a mask. I, again, as a human (not employee) who doesnât think Iâm saving the world by buying a cappuccino but âdoâ think itâs kind to respect businesses wishes, told him extremely kindly that there were signs requesting masks. He responded by saying things about mandates, laws, and how he can read but didnât care about their request. Also, he was there for beer, not coffee, so Iâm not sure what thrill he received for giving this coffee shop 1 star. Both the brewery and the coffee shop (they share the space) are 5 star businesses and deserve to be reviewed honestly. For anyone who takes the time to read this, I think the kindest way to support a business is to not give them a hard time and to follow their simple requests. Queen City is one of my favorite coffee shops and they have been since they opened. I will not stand there and watch a self-righteous and rude person blatantly disrespect them just because they can or have a temper tantrum when kindly asked by a person (not the business) to consider being more respectful. Good luck out there everyone! If you need coffee or beer in Baker, go check out Queen City and Novel Strand. Theyâre...
Read moreTurmeric latte was so overpowering with the spice that I couldn't taste even a hint of any other flavors. No wifi on the weekends is an unfortunate choice but that's what they want to do so I get it. It was a cute place that Iâd like to work at in the future but probably wonât go back due to the following interaction.
The worst part was the brewery guys clearly trying to restrict and push out the coffee customers around 11:30/12 on a Sunday. I moved to sit at a table by an outlet because other tables by outlets were taken. I was in a party of two and the sign on the table said for party of 6 or more. There was a party of 3 at a table with the same sign so I thought it was fine. The place was also pretty empty. I'd move if a big group came in.
Brewery Bro came over to tell me I can't sit there because I need to leave room for brewery customers. The whole place was ~20% full, no new customers coming in, and all current customers working on laptops (by outlets) or chatting over coffee. Nobody was there for the brewery.
Between the bad latte, no wifi, & rude brewery guy (who I have since learned is Tamir), I left. Probably won't go...
Read moreI'd had Queen City coffee at other area coffee shops and enjoyed it, so I was excited to try it at the source.
As we walked in, the two men behind the counter offered us some beans. They didn't have enough left in the bag to make anything, but it was enough to brew at home in our Aeropress. So from the first moment, the place was a win.
We tried a couple of espresso drinks and chatted with the guys about where we might have had their coffee before. Turns out they are the roasters behind the cold brew at Bellwether, which is my favorite cold brew in the world.
My latte was really good. We sat down and did a little work in the space, which also doubles as a brewery tasting room. I believe one brother runs the coffee operation, while the other runs Novel Strand Brewing. It was early AM, so I didn't...
