I've been a loyal customer of Rosenberg’s for the past 9 years, but unfortunately, my recent experiences have been incredibly disappointing.
On Sunday, I came in specifically looking for scallion cream cheese. When I asked about it, the man at the counter seemed unsure and unable to answer my questions—perhaps he was new. Then, a woman came from the back (Sarah) and, to my shock, and I quote said, “You’re asking a lot of questions!” I was honestly taken aback by the tone and comment.
She went on to say that you haven’t had your plain whipped cream cheese in months, which may be true, but I’ve always come in for the scallion spread and everything bagels. When I asked about my rewards and requested to enter my phone number through Toast, she acted like it was a major inconvenience and insisted that rewards can only be redeemed through the app. I’ve successfully redeemed them in-store the same way in the past, so this didn’t sit right with me.
I also remember when you used to offer 4 oz cream cheese containers before or during COVID, which you no longer do. While I understand that prices have gone up everywhere, $8 for cream cheese combined with poor service feels like a slap in the face.
Bagel prices have steadily increased over the years, and as someone from New York, I can tell you even the best bagel spots there don’t charge as much. You can get a dozen for $12–$15 in NYC. If Rosenberg’s continues down this path, raising prices while offering subpar service, it’s going to push loyal customers away.
It’s really disappointing to see how far things...
Read moreI am a huge fan of Rosenbergs. I grew up on the east coast and worked in a bagel store the majority of my teenage years. So I truely appreciate a good bagel. The bagels and cream cheese are truely amazing here and I have yet to find another bagel store in Colorado that is remotely close to their product. My work is located by the smaller Rosenbergs shop off of Monaco in Denver so I make my way over during the week. The last few weeks I have gone in, I have been extremely dissapointed as they have been very low on bagels and cream cheese. One day I went in and they only had onion bagels, nothing else. The past 3-4 times I have been in they have had very limited cream cheese, possibly 1-3 containers. I arrived at 9:00 am the other day and they had 3 tubs of hatch green chile. Which is delicous but not what I would have liked. I live 45 minutes from this Rosenbergs and use to make trips here on the weekends to satisfy my bagel craving, which I will not be doing anymore. It is extremely dissapointing when you arrive and they have very few bagels left, or no cream cheese. I have encountered other unhappy customers in the parking lot with the same concerns. I hope they can figure out a good system to get...
Read moreI Stopped in this morning and was surprised by a LONG WAIT and had to repeatedly repeat my order even after they wrote it down, The only cashier continued to verify my order 3 times to me like they were unsure of what they were selling and my order was still wrong as items were missing from the bag! They seem to be disorganized and inefficient, and slower then it use to be. The old bagel store recipe for Rugelach was vastly superior but replaced anyways. The new recipe reminds me of the Udi's Garbage. The Bagels I ordered had a nice crunch to the outside but inside reminded me of an airy Thomasville bread bagel I can get at the regular grocery store. I miss the old bagel store style bagels. Hopefully the Challah and cakes are the same, unfortunately I won't know until shabbos... And like the other comment about sales tax, I was also charged Sales TAX today even though this bakery supplies food for home consumption like a grocery store and has no restaurant setup or seating.
