One if the main reasons we ordered from Shondiz today was because of their Barg kabab that we were excited to try .
After we pleaced our ordered online we got a call that their Barg kabab was sold out and we need to cancel or replace the bargs we had with something else. (We wondered why it was not shown in their menu). We decided to change the Soltani which includes one Barg with a lamb filet pieces (Chenjeh Kabak) and the single Barg with a kubide wrap.
Only the price difference between the single barg menu and the warp of $13. When I went for the pick I was being told that they already return to my card $12. I told them that amount that they need to return to me should be $14 (not tax included).
I am aware that the difference is something between 2-3 dollars but that’s not my point. It’s their duty to do the right calculation and return the full amount to the costumer.
Because of the inconvenience they not only gave us any discount or anything else but also return a less amount than they owed us!!!! Costumer service is something that they don’t know.
About the food: The kubide kabab and the kubide wrap OK and The kubide was eatable.
The lamb filet was definitely not filet it was full of fat and cartilage, an unpleasant experience. I don’t know which cheap part of the lamb it was, the burned fat on it smell absolutely nothing close than delicious. Never order this please.
The Mirzaghasemi Worst Mirzaghasemi we ever had. It had a bad taste abd bitter, it was either getting bad or had bad ingredients. We could not eat more than a bit and unfortunately it went to the trash, wast of food :(
Overall I will not recommend this eatery and will notify my friends about my experience as well.
Update (a day after):
The above mentioned $14 was returned afterwards. (The next day) Manager reached out himself and tried to resolve the issue. Much appreciate the follow up. We will give them another chance and will try...
Read moreA special experience never to forget! Tasteful decor and ambiance set the mood for a relaxing evening. From the onset the host made us feel incredibly welcome; he was so gracious and considerate, and after asking if we had any dietary restrictions he made personalized recommendations for what to try from the menu.
Trust the chef- he knows what he’s doing! The fluffy saffron rice is perfection and easily a satisfying dish on its own but if you get the grilled tomatoes don’t be shy about smashing them into the rice and mixing the smokey tangy flavors to elevate the rest of the dish. If you’re a fan of olives try the marinated olives ‘Zayton Parvardeh’; a mix of pomegranate molasses and ground walnuts adds a uniquely Persian twist for the refined palate. I love olives and this was an instant win! The yogurt variations are both thick, creamy and bursting with flavor. (Try the Mast-o-moosir /wild shallots for something more exotic!)
With all the expectations one might have of a traditional Persian restaurant, the vegan ‘Ghormeh-Sabzi’ came as an unexpected surprise. An excellent accompaniment to the rice and the tasty variety of kabobs that were presented. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. And do not miss out on the ‘Koobideh’ kabob- a center stage staple! The ‘Bakhtiari’ kabob was something we had never tried before and I appreciated the variety that was offered on that one skewer alone; the chicken pieces melted in the mouth and were clearly well marinated, tender and stained golden with saffron.
To wash it down there are a variety of drinks we got to try; my absolute favorite was a yogurt mint drink (‘Doogh’) which is a house special and made using an authentic method adding the right balance to your meal - light, healthy and very refreshing!
We will be back for another date night soon! Thankyou to our wonderful host for making our evening...
Read moreI wish I could rate this restaurant higher. We wanted to go out as a family for dinner, and we pass Shondiz everyday on our way to a daily appointment. We decided to stop in instead of going to a more trendy place. My husband used to eat a lot of Persian food and was craving Sumac and kabob. First of all, the red "carpet" and velvet ropes that greet you at this super unassuming, dated strip mall is a fitting preview of what's to come. The inside is so clean, relaxing, and classy. The menu has a great selection of kabobs and other dishes that I assume are authentic because my husband was smiling ear to ear. We were served a small dish of barley soup while we decided what we wanted. We ordered The Royal Treat, Ghormeh Sabzi, a chicken wrap (children), hot tea, and Shondiz lemonade. Everything we had was perfect. My husband was melting with joy and nostalgia. I was planning go home and learn to make Persian food, but realized I can just stop by and order to-go here. Or come back, because the only thing better than the food was the service. The amazing gentleman who served us could not have been kinder and more caring. We did end up getting the Baklava, Pistachio Ice Cream, and Chocolate Cake to round it all out. With a refill of hot tea, we were fat and happy! We WILL be back. If you're waffling on eating here,...
