I recently visited the Hampden Branch of Denver Public Library in Denver and had an exceptional experience! The employees were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions. They were informative, friendly, and made my visit truly enjoyable. The library itself is well-organized and offers a great selection of resources. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great local library! 📚😊

Amazing kid area that gets better every time we go! Legos, mega blocks, dinosaurs, menchies, puppets and puppet theatre, trucks, baby toys, magnetic toys... Tablets with games for kids as well. Helpful librarians, plus an incredible friendly maker space! We love this place!

It's basically a daycare center. Kids running crazy, cussing, no respect for a library. I was using a computer tonight with my 11 yr old and a group of 3-4 kids, around 8-10, were being so loud, and cussing. There was staff at a nearby desk just around the corner, but no one said anything to them. I finally had to stand up and tell them that we're in a library with people trying to work and read and you're not being respectful. They continued. The man next to us said something to them the next time and they still continued. I went to a staff member and told them about it, but no one got up right away. They did come over about 5 mins later because a kid was having an issue with the printer. At this point they were not cussing, but still being loud and rowdy and this staff person said not a thing to them! One kid then said "He's printing inappropriate gun pictures," and the staff person said "OK, it's OK to print it here, just don't print it at school." WHAT. And this on the same day that a school shooting happened in GA. No young kid has business printing pictures of guns at a public library, and no adult has any business giving them the OK to do so. Are they scared of the kids or what? What a backwards place that is being run here. We'll be going to a different library that actually values their visitors and expects them to respect the...

Cozy library with great wifi! I've only been to this library a few times, but it's located ten minutes away which is very convenient for me. I can cycle there using the Highlands Trail in under ten minutes. The librarians are very friendly and helpful when approached by a courteous person, but I've seen them take a more stern approach when dealing with unfriendly/ignorant/rude people. I can't imagine being rude to a librarian, what with them holding the keys to L-space. This isn't a huge library, but it's a good library with plenty of reading room and a well-spaced, comfortable, and quiet (except for typing) computer stations. There are also tables where you can sit with your laptop or tablet and connect to the internet using their wifi. The parking lot is circular for easy access and parking. There's also a bike rack in view of the windows inside so if you're a paranoid bicycle owner (like me) you can check on it easily. Did I mention that they just got fun new library cards?...

I'm here right now and it's as loud as described. I'm near the front desk because the nooks in the arcade/romper room...I mean the computer area are intolerable The staff is loud because they're over-staffed and bored. With self check-out, why are there two or more people at the front desk with nothing much to do other than chat with each other or regular patrons?

I used to work at a branch university library of similar size. There were never more than two of us (plus the professional librarian) during the day and only one of us in the evening. We worked the desk, handled reference and checked in books or shelved when 'idle'.

As for considerate patron behavior and the stern 'shhh' librarian, those things are a quaint as using...
