Bottom line: The tacos are decent, but the wait for the food is ridiculously long, and makes the whole experience not worth it. I went on a Wednesday last week at the end of the lunch rush hour. The wait in line was pretty short, and I easily found a table after I placed my order. My order was placed at 12:59 pm. The server brought me my tacos at 1:24 pm. I asked the bus girl/server what was a reasonable amount of time to expect my food, and she said that during lunch hour, it could be up to 30 minutes. So while my food was brought within the "reasonable wait time", I did not think that food was so spectacular or such a great value that it is worth waiting 30 minutes after I order. The 30 minutes reasonable wait time also seems out of order with the setup, which is standing in line to order at the counter, getting a number and a drink cup to go to the self serve coke machine with, finding an empty table to sit down at, and waiting for a server/bus person to bring the food to you. That set up, to me, implies fast food, or at least relatively fast food within 10 minutes -- not 30 minutes. Once the food arrived, it was fine for two $3-4 tacos. The shredded cheese seemed a bit too "perfect out of the package", but the food was otherwise fine. The food was nothing spectacular to justify the wait. If I wanted to wait a long time for fancier and better testing tacos, I'll go to a sit down Mexican restaurant with a server that takes your order and specializes in fancy tacos (plenty to choose from in Denver). Decor and ambience of the restaurant was otherwise in keeping with a brand new, chain restaurant in the Northfield Stapleton...
Read moreFirst of all, we LOVE the food at Torchy's Tacos and have become regulars at this location over the last couple months. That being said, the tastiness of the food is the ONLY reason we keep coming back. This location has a major "fly problem" inside the restaurant. I know that can be hard to control sometimes, but I'm sure the amount of dirty tables doesn't help.
On every visit we have made so far (roughly 8-10 times), my husband has ordered a sweet tea. Unfortunately, they are always out of tea (every time except once), and no employee seems to be responsible for monitoring the beverage bar to keep it stocked. Even after asking for tea to be re-brewed, this is usually not completed by the time our meal is done. We would ask for our money back, but since there's only ever one cashier (usually a line of 10-20 people), it's never been worth the time it would take.
Speaking of employees, there does not appear to be any uniform policy, which makes it difficult to identify who actually works there to express to any concerns. Outside of the single cashier, there just appears to be random people wandering around the dining room. Only when one of them ducks into the kitchen can we figure out that they work there. In general, it seems like outside of delivering the food to tables, the employees are very apathetic about the state of the dining room -- from the flies, to the dirty dishes and tables, to the beverage bar.
We're just sick of messing with it; we'd rather drive farther and go to another location...
Read moreThe food was fine, but the workers were not. I arrived and Waited at least five minutes for someone to come up to the front because I cannot pay on the kiosk. I told a few people you can feel free to go around me because I needed to wait for the worker.
Someone came out And had to answer a question someone on the kiosk had. She ended up, ringing up their order as I’m standing in front of the register. So I physically had to move back to let the other person to pay. After I Arrived first.
It wasn’t the fact that he was served first because maybe the lady at the register did not know. It was the fact that she did not acknowledge or say anything to me.
Then whenever I got my food, my food is wrong. I notified the runner. It was incorrect and she sighed and said give me one second. she had another order in her hand needing to be dropped off . She came back and said, so what do you want in a very flat voice. I told her the correction she went to the kitchen and brought my food back out. But this time she slammed the bag on the table and said here and I said thank you. But She just walked away without acknowledging.
Just not the best service unfortunately I love torchy’s so maybe I’ll just have to come at another time a day where there is...
