A deep dive into Torchy's Tacos

First visit to Torchy tacos. The waitress/bartender greeted us with some of the favorites, which she recommended the chips, and queso. She did a thorough job of explaining the flavors, cheese, diablo sauce, guac, cilantro, and I'm sure I'm missing something, but it was good! She gave us a sampler of different salsas, all different, all fresh with flavors. I enjoyed the fried avocado taco and the Mr. Orange. Hubs had the Trailer park and the green chili pork tacos. We both thought they were rich, tasty, and relished in the flavor profiles. The 100 margarita was so good too, so many options to choose from. While all the staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the food, I do have a complaint. There were entirely too many plastics being wasted. The salsa containers, straws, these one time use items do not need to be used. Let's help save the planet together, reduce, reuse, THEN recycle. ✌🏻💚♻️

Asked to speak to manager about my order last week that I had asked for no cilantro, and showed him picture of my receipt which was rung correctly indicating no cilantro on my order. Then shared w/ manager picture of my meal which clearly had a lot of cilantro on it, which made it totally inedible for me. He never once said sorry. His only comment was "what would you want me to do about it?" I told him that I would be ordering the same items again this evening and would appreciate if he would make sure that the kitchen recognized my request for no cilantro this time. I did not ask to have a meal comped or anything. Just prepared properly tonight. He was quite snooty. Don't know if that's his personality or what. Then he came out of the kitchen at a brisk pace, dropped my to go bag on the table in front of me, without pausing for a split second, and said "here you go" as he kept walking right on by. Just rude and zero people skills. Never going back.

From the very start we knew this would be the best Torchys experience we could have asked for and we weren't disappointed! The young cashier with the brown hair working at 5:30 pm today was an absolutely patient saint with our family. Despite us being indecisive, he remained so helpful and calm under our stressful ordering! The food was absolutely the best we have ever had (compared to the dallas locations) the Mofaux was such a treat for the vegetarians in our group! We loved the quest, sauces, and how kind the manager was! He made it a point to visit each table to check on guests multiple times! He was so attentive and great! He was the ultimate professional when dealing with an incident occurring outside the store and knew how to take charge! This was by far the best food experience I have had at a Torchys! Keep up the great work! All the staff were brilliant today!

Update: 3 months with no action. The manager Andy acted like he cared and said he would take action, but didn't. Ordered a burrito with no guacamole and it was stuffed with guacamole. Not only that but also has two sharp shards of metal. I asked for the manager, and was told to wait. 10 minutes waiting and I went looking for one. Asked at the kitchen, told to wait. 5 minutes later, I asked again and she told me she'd be right with me. Shay was her name, and she offered to comp my meal, but I was mostly concerned with other customers and internal bleeding. I asked for an incident report and not only did she not return to our table, I didn't get my refund. As you can see from the photos, I took the burrito apart looking for more metal, but I didn't eat it obviously. Very disappointed and worried about others if employees can't keep metal out of the food.

I love the food at Torchys. However, this is the worst location I've ever been to. I gave it four tries to give it a fair chance, but every time there has been a problem. A couple times the order was wrong, and the other times it has taken a ridiculous amount of time to get my order. The most recent time I placed an online order to be picked up at 5:45 and when I got there at 6:10 they said it wasn't ready. I didn't end up getting it until 6:26. I've worked plenty of customer service jobs so I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but my experiences here have pushed my patience... If four chances isn't enough to get better, then I'm assuming it won't. I will most likely not be returning to this location. I don't recommend coming here unless you want to wait an hour for your food.
