Veggie Heaven — Restaurant in Denville

My mother and sister are both vegetarians, who have lactose-intolerance AND celiac disease, so finding restaurants with any, let alone several, options with no meat, no dairy, and no gluten is a constant struggle. Thankfully there are restaurants like Veggie Heaven.

It was my mom's birthday last night and she was so delighted to have a whole vegan menu to look through with several unique and delicious options for once, complete with a gluten-free area just for her! We all enjoyed our meals very much (even someone as carnivorous as I am!), and at the end of the meal the staff brought out my mom's dessert with a candle, we all sang, and on our way out this sweet lady brought her a small, beautiful vase with a vine cutting as a present. My mom was over the moon and it was definitely a birthday she will cherish for a long time. Thank you for being so kind and for catering to an often-forgotten population of people with extreme allergies.

Also to note: We were four adults and two kids, ordered five apps, seven entrees (I brought some home for my fiancé), five bubble teas, four coffees/teas, and five desserts and it came in under $200!

I forgot to take any pictures, but comments on things I tried:

BBQ Veggie Ribs - Not sure what they were made of, but I believe they do have gluten, so my brother-in-law and I enjoyed those (which I was happy with because more for meeee!). They were strips of something rolled up and basted in a delicious bbq sauce with spicy dipping sauce, softer on the inside and chewy on the outside. Would definitely order again

Hunan Dumplings - Not gluten-free. Soft, delicate dumplings swimming in a delicious peanut sauce

Pumpkin Soup - tried a sip off my niece as did my sister, so I assume it's gluten-free. It was a little watery for my taste, but I am not a pumpkin fan to begin with so my opinion is biased

Eggplant Delight - My order, gluten-free. The eggplant was tender and the sauce very delicate. I thought it would be more hoisin-based with a stronger flavor, but it was still delicious!

Fresh Garden Walnuts - My mom's order, gluten-free. The "chicken" was tasty with a nice crunch with the walnut. Also, the green beans were cooked perfectly tender-crisp

"Hot Pot" - My brother-in-law ordered this. Looking at the menu now I don't see it, but I will definitely be asking for it next time. Delicious-flavored sauce I must have again! I believe it is not...

This is huge for me to rate a veggie only place this high, so believe me if I tell you, they are that good. I am a carnivore and have to have meat at least once a day if not in every meal. I can go throughout a day without carbs, but not without my protein, which I need and enjoy. This place even proved me to be a loyal customer and rightfully so. Their entire menu is vegan, gluten free and many other dietary needs and restrictions which some of my family members have and stick to. Their dishes are amazing, the taste and even the texture. We have tried multiple entries and when I tell you that you can't tell the difference when you eat their "beef", "duck", "pork", "chicken" and even "shrimp", you really feel as if you are eating the real thing. They feel and taste like the none veggie items, but everything is made out of vegetables. Absolutely amazing. We have even tried their sushi and it tastes like a real deal, when we had salmon, tuna or shrimp, as mentioned before. They even have vegan desserts and I have tried those before, in other places and usually they taste like carbon box or rubber, but Veggie Heaven makes them taste just like a regular and the texture is the same as well. We like and tried variety of their vegan cheesecake and it is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this place.

I recently had to become vegetarian for health reasons and even some of the items that they have, sauces, I am unable to enjoy. I asked them to make a few minor modifications to a dish that I was able to eat and they did it perfectly, as requested. Amazing place, amazing owner and amazing staff. We go there very often now, because I am able to eat the items and because we really enjoy the food. My wife gets Sushi, which she loves and we even brought my dad, who likes a good piece of steak, he ordered peaking duck and was amazed how good it was. Wonderful. Thank you everyone at Veggie Heaven.

For Thanksgiving I saw that they have turkey, so decided, since I can't have meat turkey, to try Veggie Heaven version and it was incredible. It looked, tasted and felt like I was having tasty meaty bird dish. Loved it and once again, Veggie Heaven stood the test of great taste and texture. Loved it so much, getting one more today for second...

Finding great vegan restaurant's, especially last minute is not the easiest to do. Luckily for my girlfriend and I, we found Veggie Heaven! When you first see the place, do not be thrown off by the outside appearance(picture included at end), the inside is extremely tidy, clean, and welcoming!

Let me start off by saying that I have never once had Chinese food so good before, even before I was vegan.

As soon as we sat down within 30 seconds the table already had a glass of water for each my girlfriend and I, as well as what I assume to be pickled cabbage as an "on the house" welcome starter. I began my order with some warm Oolong tea, it came in a nice little tea kettle and I was able to get a few cups out of it. As soon as we were ready to order the waitress was there. My girlfriend ordered the Veggie Chicken with Broccoli & White Rice. I ordered the General Tso's Veggie Chicken & White Rice. Both of our dishes were excellently cooked, the broccoli was steamed to perfection on both of our dishes. The Veggie meat was out of this world and is well ahead of the game in "meat-free meats"! Since this is an honest review however, I do wish they had knives to cut the broccoli. Nothing was present to cut it, so we had to take bites out of it. However, no big deal given the fact that everything else was done to near perfection! Also to add the fact that it is MSG free is great, you do not leave here feeling bloated at all! You can really taste how all ingredients are well balanced. A favorite of mine as well are dishes that are not salty, this place nailed it on the head and it left me feeling SUPER CLEAN!

To end, they came out and served us an orange that was actually cut in an ingenious way that I have never seen before (maybe I don't get out enough lol) as well as two fortune cookies!

Overall my first experience here could not have gone any better! The service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and the food was out of this world!!
