Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Des Peres

I have had nothing but bad experiences at this Chipotle location recently. I've even been here twice in two weeks and both experiences have been bad. With the order about a week ago, I pulled up at about 9pm (this location is open until 10) and there was a handwritten "pick up inside" sign in the Chipotlane window, so I reluctantly went inside to get my order. Every chair in the restaurant was stacked on top of the tables, and the employees seemed like they were ready to head home. When I got home, one of our bags of chips never made it into the bag, so I had no chips for my queso. My burrito was also so poorly wrapped that it completely fell apart and I had to eat it with a fork.

Today was the same nonsense. I pulled up again around 9pm to a different handwritten sign in the Chipotlane window asking me to go inside to pick up my order. When I go to walk inside, there was one employee inside cleaning the front line, and one sitting on his phone out in the lobby. I guess I arrived early enough that they hadn't started putting away the chairs. I checked my bag to make sure everything was in it and headed home. When I got home, my wife told me that the double steak that we paid $5 for was not in her bowl, and her "large" bag of chips was nearly empty when she opened it. Although my burrito tasted good and was well constructed, it was not double wrapped in tortillas.

I will NOT be going back to this Chipotle again. I have been a Chipotle customer at the Ellisville location since it opened, and will be going to that location exclusively again. If the Des Peres location isn't going to have their Chipotlane open and i'm going to have to walk inside anyway, i'll just go to the...

I've gone to Chipotle's all over the midwest. This one is my favorite. I'm here 1-2 times a week. The food is the most consistent. I know that I'm going to get a similar profile every time I go. They actually put salt and spices in their food. The surrounding locations should come here to learn how to cook, especially Kirkwood. Their food is always bland and the rice is undercooked. Not to mention, there's always that one dude at lunch that is stingy with the food like we're taking it out of his mouth. He'll scoop up food and then knock some off. If you don't say anything you'll walk out with 10 little pieces of meat for a whole bowl.

But anyway, this is about the Manchester one. Their service is excellent and always friendly. Those customers complaining about employees being unfriendly should probably try smiling and saying "Hi". Imagine dealing with people like you all day, with your complaints and disapproving faces, while standing on your feet serving them food. They may seem unfriendly, but maybe they're just tired. Try saying hi and thank you.

On top of that, these reviews are deceiving. A lot of people complimented the food and staff, but put 3-stars. And typically, people only post when they have a complaint. I'm sure there are many more who've had a great...

What a waste of beautiful location. This store has so much potential yet such terrible management. We decided to give it a chance despite the one star reviews. Brand new store but somehow very dirty. First thing we noticed is an employee who was “on break” eating in the visible kitchen area (right behind the bar) and talking on their phone. His break “ended” so he came back with his phone in his hand, put on gloves, and continued to use his phone. He was maskless the entire time. The girl making our food at the bar had no mask whatsoever and you can tell she hated being there. She tried being nice but it was very forced. Other people going in and out of the back with no masks, or masks only covering their chin, shouting and goofing around. However, we don’t blame the employees one bit - we blame leadership. Each employee has so much potential but it’s all being wasted due to how badly the store is operated. It’s a new location, how could employees hate their jobs so much when they’ve barely been working there? How could they ruin this location SO quickly and start off with 3 one star reviews?
