All Star Burger Store Number 2 — Restaurant in Desert Hot Springs

First the good: spacious layout, lots of tables, clean environment, friendly staff

The bad: food quality and prices

Ordered the mushroom burger. Honestly, worst mushroom burger I’ve ever had. Lettuce onion and tomatoes don’t belong on every burger. That’s an easy fix as I removed what I didn’t want. Next is the razor thin McDonalds sized patty. Is it even 1/4lb? McDonalds might even offer a thicker patty than this. Also mushrooms seemed to be dumped from a can, quickly heated and put on the burger. They were pretty nasty. Mushrooms should be fresh and sautéed with some flavor. These were chewy bland pieces of whale blubber on my burger, not appetizing. The cheese was also not fresh cheese but Kraft singles. I’m not a 9 year old eating a grilled cheese at the park, I’m an adult ordering an expensive burger at a restaurant. Kraft singles are not cheese and don’t belong in a restaurant.

Here’s the price: I have no problem with a good restaurant charging $9 for a burger, but most places give you 1/3lb patty for that price, not less than a 1/4lb patty. (BTW, if you think 1/3 is less than 1/4 please google it.) Next is the $7 add on for a soda and fries. Anyone who’s ever worked in the food industry knows a cup of soda is less than $0.25 each so adding $7 to the cost of the burger bringing it to over $18 with tax is outrageous. Places like red Robbin will give you all 3 for about $15 and that includes a giant patty but here I got a wafer sized patty. Lastly is the additional $3 to upgrade your combo soda to a juice. So now your $9 burger, $7 fries, and $3 juice with tax brings you to about $22. Sorry, but there are much higher end restaurants that will give you a top notch meal for that price. I don’t see how I can return unless they overhaul their ingredients , cooking methods, and prices.

All Star Burger #2 is new to the area of Desert Hot Springs Ca. It's in the Hacienda Place Shopping Center in DHS. Parking is good, the exterior of the shopping center is clean and they usually post all their specials of the day outside of the doors just as you enter the restaurant....fyi The interior of the place is extremely bright and clean, (so clean you can eat off their floors☺️) and there's plenty of booths and tables to sit in, each booth is upholstered in a car theme which is very cool. The service is friendly and the employees are very patient and helpful when you're trying to decide what to order, that's because they have a hell of a selection menu of food, anywhere from breakfast, lunch, dinners, daily specials, and desserts. When you come to this place come with a hearty appetite because they give you a lot of food for your money, enough that you can share between two people. They also offered lunch specials between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. you get a burger and beer for $4.99 or a taco and beer for $2.99... (and yes they serve alcohol!😁🍻) This place is awesome! The only issue I had/ have with All Star Burger is the price!, If you decide to come with a large family "good luck" because it is extremely expensive. For two people you're going to spend about $40. recommend , I had the wet burrito with Carnitas. The burrito was perfectly cooked and still hot when it came out. Which not a lot of places are like that a lot of places will just serve the food room temperature, but this place cooked it to perfection. They were very accommodated to my son. My husband had the Bacon cheese burger which was great. The fries I would compare to a better version of McDonald’s fries. For sure one of the best in the valley would be coming back here soon.
