This place is quite an enigma. It’s just off-putting & not very well-run. ||It’s new-comer (relatively) to DHS & is one of the lowest advertised price among many other competitors, so it attracts all sorts. I’ve stayed once & visited to pick up a friend there who was staying there a couple weeks after me. It certainly wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great either.||||A couple oddities were that the rooms are accessible through this big odd indoor common area that had a super-sketchy vibe to it — with plastic lawn furniture chairs, fake pants, & a semi-rotted cabbage/vegetable smell to it. The room attendants were all very nice & helpful though.||||The rooms were tiny-tiny, but luckily everything inside was literally brand new & clean (because they just had opened I was assuming).||The most unsettling source of frustration for us was that often no one would answer the phone — when calling it would either ring indefinitely, or try to connect you to a voicemail box that was full. On top of that, once staying there, sometimes there was no one at the front desk at all. So I would highlight customer service & professionalism as their biggest miss & top opportunity.||||In the evening, I guess they state that they monitor who comes & goes, & signage posted says that you are required to show your key to gain access to the rooms; but this was CLEARLY not the case when I was there. It was more of a free-for-all & had tons of dubious foot traffic, in & out all night. Usually when it’s hot during the day, people hunker down & stay indoors, but oh man — when the sun goes down, DHS is buzzing with activity.||||Which brings me to the neighborhood. DHS is huge & diverse, but apparently has a lot homeless, many unusual street characters, crackheads, & all kinds of itinerant desert dwellers wandering about; which is fine, so long as you know this ahead of time... (it’s at least interesting people watching) ...& so for a few blocks in either direction, that ‘element’ features prominently, which may or may not...
Read moreMy fiancé and I read a lot of bad reviews about this Inn. We were worried, but it turned out absolutely amazing. I was surprised. There were no bugs like the other reviews had stated. There was no carpet. It was nice flooring , the room was clean. We had managed to accidentally undo the bed spread and everything , lol, the bare mattress was completely clean with no spots or stains. I was very impressed. The hotel staff was very nice. They didn’t bother us. We had our own hotel room with no disturbances. We had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend, and if we ever visit Palm Springs again, we are staying there. On checkout day, we didn’t realize what time it was and we were informed checkout was at 11. We went to checkout, but realized we had no where to go until 2 ( the time we needed to be at the airport). We were going to pay for a whole other night, just for 2 more hours, when we just needed to get my fiancé’s haircut next door, but the front desk lady , allowed us to leave our things in the hotel, go get his haircut, and stay until 2 for no additional charges. We were so thankful. After we got home, we realized that my fiancé had not received the $100 deposit back from the hotel. Upset, I called the hotel to discuss the issue. I was informed that it is in the process of being credited, it was still going through his bank. She said that it could take 1-3 days, and if it wasn’t not added back, that they would gladly speak to his bank and assure that the deposit be given back. My fiancé did indeed receive his deposit back in a very timely manner. It was a really great experience. Professional. Thank you so much. We spent most of our time in the hotel due to money problems, this place is very affordable, great quality for the price, and was the best trip I’ve ever...
Read moreDriving from Chicago to Washington state I felt a cold coming on so decided to rest a couple days before continuing on. Not only was I charged almost $30 more for my room. (BOTH NIGHTS!!) The rooms smelled stale with a hint of mold! The toilet never did flush on its own. I HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY plunge it! The television didn't work and no ice?? What motel/hotel doesn't have ice?!? As I'm paying for my second day the rate went up! AGAIN! I then told the hotel clerk that the website had almost a $30 difference! He then told me that the hotel didn't have a website!! Lol and so I told him I wld just go somewhere else. He then told me bc it was so late (1:18pm) he would have to charge me $20 plus tax for the late checkout!?!??!?!!!!!!! I decided I was to sick to keep up with this combative nature he had created with me n juss pay the rate so I could try n get better before my three day drive to see my newborn grandson. He then THREW my card key at me in a very extremely disrespectful way. I then told him I needed towels n his reply was I'm not maid service! WTH is wrong with you ppl? But sd he cld fix my television n continued on with me to my room. Fixed the television n walked out without saying a word. When the maid showed up again. She handed me the plunger and waited by the door while I cleared the pipe (AGAIN!). Not only do I want a total refund of the over charge of the $60, I want to know that no one else gets cheated like I did. As well as an apology. Your website should say motel not...
