Disappointing Experience at Thai Palms in Desert Hot Springs
I recently dined at Thai Palms in Desert Hot Springs and regrettably, my experience was far from satisfactory. I opted for a takeout order and was particularly looking forward to the cucumber salad with Thai dressing.
Upon arriving home and unpacking the order, I was disheartened to discover that the cucumber salad was devoid of any dressing. It essentially consisted of a heap of cucumbers, lacking the crucial Thai flavor that I was anticipating.
In an attempt to rectify the situation, I contacted the restaurant to request a refund for the missing item. To my surprise and dismay, I was met with resistance and treated with discourtesy. The customer service exhibited during this interaction was abysmal, to say the least.
Regrettably, I must advise against patronizing Thai Palms based on this disappointing encounter. The lack of attention to detail and the dismissive attitude towards customer concerns is disheartening. I, for one, have decided not to return to this establishment.
I hope that this feedback serves as an opportunity for improvement for Thai Palms, as there is potential for them to provide a much better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was delicious the service unfriendly and inferior. I still planned on going back for more, however, I observed something as I was ready to leave that totally turned me off. I saw the server clear a table where a party of eight had just dined. He brought a lovely silver soup tureen to the table and filled it with all the individual left over bowls of soup the diners had just left behind. I was appalled, especially to envision the soup I had just swallowed as being someone else's left overs. In spite of the service they could have still had a repeat customer in me, and with my friends, but I don't feel comfortable dining at a place where pot luck left over slurped in soup is standard fare. It also makes me wonder whether left over food is utilized in the same manner. Not sure how to rate this place. 4.5 stars for the food. 1 star for the service, and zero stars for the recycled soup. I feel really violated by it. Despite the pleasing spicy flavors of the cuisine it left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not one to complain but that...

I'm from SF - vegan & travel often/eat lots of Thai/only veggies, at various cities - this place serves authentic-classic, Thai cuisine - all delicious, serving only amazing, fresh herbs/spices & sauces. Can request spice level (I love it burning everytime, on every dish, per request!) & can request with/without oyster-fish sauce).
Highly recommend (for vegan options): Thai tofu salad (esp during summers!) - dish is cool with warm soft (or fried - your pref) tofu & cool, crisp salad. Plenty for leftovers/dinner); garlic broccoli (it's never over-cooked & always fresh/crisp AND comes with amazing veggies that I recommend using leftovers for a veggie omelet!) with soft tofu; basil tofu; & phad Thai with/without egg) - noodles & its veggies are fresh & cooked perfectly!). Drunken Noodles = AMAZING! My friends who eat meat highly recommend, per told.
Great service! Great food! Family owned, the REAL DEAL!
Cool fact: Owners' royal family paintings & photographs are hung throughout & are...
