I’m sick and tired of restaurants charging a million dollars and yet the service is so poor. From other reviews I’ve seen, it seems they minorities this way specifically. As an RN and former waitress of 5 years with years of training in cultural competencey and customer service I am disgusted. I will never be returning.
I come in and I sit at the bar I order the countryman’s breakfast and the crèmebrulee French toast and a lavender lemonade. My waitress is nice at first. The country breakfast comes with toast, I wanted French toast. They said I couldn’t do that, fine. So I got the French toast a la carte and my waitress said she’d give me fruit instead of toast which I never got.
My food comes. The cremebrulee french toast is way too sweet. With watery whipped cream everywhere and the sugar on top had an unappealing burnt taste. The sausage was greasy too but I let it slide.
I asked for them to take the barely ate French toast and give me regular toast instead that came with my breakfast. She said she’d speak to the manager for me. She comes back rather quickly and says “he’s on a zoom meeting”. Okay fine I wait
15 minutes go by and I ask again. She says that she doesn’t have an ETA on when he’ll be done with his “meeting”. I get my bill and I’m charged for 2 lavender lemonades and the French toast I didn’t eat. I was never told refills on soft drinks weren’t free. I barely ate the French toast and they took it, so if the manager doesn’t have the decency to speak with me at least offer something to compensate for my French toast that I didn’t eat that I have to pay for.
Moral of the story, I was charged for French toast I didn’t eat, the manager didn’t have the decency to speak to me, and the servers are sneaky and trying to run up a bill so they can get a better tip.
P.S I was in the service industry for a long time and I would have still tipped well had I gotten better service and been communicated with about the lack of free refills and been better accomadated for the disgusting...
Read moreA bit of a rough start, sat down at the bar after being told by the hostess to take my seat. Restaurant was pretty full at this point, but the bar was at a lull, no tickets, only one other patron at the bar itself besides myself, and he was just chatting it up with the person behind the bar at that time.
I sat there for a good three minutes with three or four ladies just there, all have seen me, but not one person acknowledged me to even ask if I was dining in or taking out before someone else (waitress/hostess) saw me and asked. I know three minutes isn't entirely long, but for no acknowledgement, that pretty long. Not even a 'hi'or anything.
After that things were decent, a new bartender came in and she was on top of things when she wasn't busy slinging drinks and what it, but she was pretty much the only attentive one outside of the first person that asked me if I was dining in. Overall, outside of those two, staff service wasn't the greatest I would say. They weren't rude by any means, just not attentive. I do also understand busy times, I came during brunch-ish times, 1:45 pm on a Saturday, so I am not taking the times things were crazy. I am solely judging the slower paced moments, moments where a simple check-in, that I've seen them do to the table behind me by the kitchen door, would have more than sufficed.
The food was decent overall, had the chicken and waffles, wished the eagle was a bit thicker, but no real complaints on the dish, minor complaint at best, and the drinks were good.
Only, I guess 'big', complaint I have was that I wish there was a little more room at the bar. I went in by myself so didn't want to take up more seats than necessary, but I'm not the most petite and I felt like I may have been a little in the person's space next to me as I was trying to eat. They have five seats at the bar, but it may be better off as four. Again, not a major complaint, just the...
Read moreCame here on a Sunday and stuck around for the 45 minute wait for a party of one as there were no other breakfast options within walking distance. I'm from out of town without a car and this appeared to be one spot that would offer an elevated dining experience. My experience was anything but elevated.
When it was time to be seated I waited way too long before my spot at the bar was wiped and I was acknowledged. Even more time passed before I was able to order. Just as my drinks were served my food had arrived. The food was fine but the portion was underwhelming. It took forever for me to pay my bill and be on my way.
As someone who works in the service industry I believe I have more patience than most; especially during a busy brunch shift. However the lack of cadence between the front of house and back of house is evident and it's hard to look past the poor service and experience that was had.
I did learn from the kind but overwhelmed bartender/barista that the regular bartender was out for an indefinite amount of time and this was not their usual job. However, I also saw many opportunities for management to step in or possibly have another person to work the espresso machine which was a point of contention in their operations. Maybe if the regular bartender was there things would have been different, and if the bartender working performed at this level consistently one would think a solution would have been pursued within the three weeks that lead to this particular visit. All I know is that I would not recommend this...
