Pegasus Taverna — Restaurant in Detroit

This place USE to be an amazing hot spot years ago! Last night we went here as my sister was really wanting this place. Upon walking in you smell nothing but ammonia and urine It's discouraging off the bat!

We got there around 930p.m. and needed a few to look at menu. When ordering, the waitress continually kept cutting us off and saying, "you done?". No? Was like its an inconvience for being there! We asked for a pitcher of water. Never saw that. We ordered saganaki doesn't come with pita bread we asked for it and never got that! Table Bread was stale and dry! We ordered the fried zucchini and garlic potato spread. Came with 4 pieces of zucchini in which None of the items on the menu state how many come with it.

Waited over an hr for the entrees. Mind you kitchen staff is waltzing around doing nothing while our waitress MIA. The place was not busy at all!! We were about to pay for what we ate and leave! Was absolutely ignored! No refills on water nor given what was asked for when ordering.

Finally food comes they didn't cook my husbands veg for his meal he had chicken gyro asked for peppers and onion on side. Over cooked the other couple's food I think was the pastinio. My lemonata chicken was dry! All that wait and for what?!

Since I had so much time to wait was looking up at decor with dust and cobwebs caked on the lights and the grapevine, floors sticky. Watching other tables get help and we are just silently like wth? When waitress comes back she had no problem showing up for the check but the entire 2 hrs there, she was nonexistant!

This was overpriced $100 check with the service! Won't be coming back and sad to watch this once amazing resturant in glory days become this! Don't bother with the apologies! I'm a person of action anymore than words! Better service, cleanliness, and food quality is...

The food was amazing. I can't say enough good things about the food. The service however was an entirely different story. Yes, it was busy.. but they were getting people in and out very quickly. First thing that happened was our waiter walked by our table 4 times saying he was coming back each time, fine they were busy so we understood and was ok with it. When he finally returned we tried ordering drinks, we asked the ingredients for the drinks and he didn't know.. and seemed a bit annoyed we even asked. Instead ordered a diet coke and the two other people received their drinks & the diet coke never came.

Anytime a question was asked it was made seemed to be a super inconvenience that we had a question about a menu item. It was my first time there... so obviously I don't know the menu well or what meals include.

We didn't even get to order our food when we were switched to a different server. Which was totally fine but we assumed we had another opportunity to ask about the drink which was in question. The water threw his arms up annoyed saying ugh I don't know and proceeded to grab the attention of our previous server to ask him the ingredients to which we just said never mind because we already asked and they didn't know.

When we got to order our food, we were told to hurry up and decide because the kitchen was "backed up" . We quickly ordered and we did receive our food quickly which was great.

The food was so good I'm willing to give this place another shot. But it is a bit disappointing when your made to feel as an inconvenience when you are giving a resturant your business. I can only hope next time is a better experience and this time was a fluke.

We made reservations several weeks in advance for our group of 8 using the online reservation link on their website. When making the reservation, we specified that it was to celebrate a special occasion. Upon arrival, there were several employees standing around the entrance area, however we were not greeted nor welcomed into the restaurant. I had to walk up to someone and let them know that we arrived for our reservation. His response was: “Someone from your party is already here. He’s sitting in the back, on the left.” He did not walk us back to the table - we were left to find our table on our own. Unfortunately the rest of our evening had the same level of poor customer service: our waitress was not kind, the bread for the table and my entree were both removed from the table before I was finished, we didn’t receive two of the appetizers we ordered… It just seemed like they were just in a rush to get us out of there. The main reason we made reservations was to ensure the restaurant would be prepared for our group, ESPECIALLY given the special reason for our outing (our wedding elopement was the following day.) Had we received better customer service here, we probably would have stuck around for dessert and more drinks!! But, sadly, we all wanted to get out of there ASAP and take our business elsewhere. The food was also not memorable and definitely not worth tolerating the poor customer service. Super super disappointed, but very glad other businesses in the area were able to accommodate our group and treat us well, which thankfully revived our spirts after a disappointing...
