Long review worth the read
My wife and I have eaten here twice now. The first time was obviously a good experience and made us decide to go back again. However the 2nd time around was very underwhelming. I will admit the food was good. I had the delmanico steak and my wife had the braised short ribs. We shared the lamb meatballs as an app. All three items were cooked properly and had great flavor. Now on to the bad. We went the night there was a concert at Ford Field so I understand that it was a busy night for them. However when we were greeted by the host we were immediately told the kitchen was closed, it was 6:15. I told the host we had a 6:30 reservation. He then proceeded to say that's okay and we could be seated, but it would be a 2 hour wait. After asking what the point of a reservation was we then turned around and left. After some consideration of what we would do we turned back and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was more accommodating, and we decided that we would go gamble for a bit longer and they could seat us at 6:45. We returned at 6:45 and were seated right away. We waited a few minutes for our waitress to come to the table. She was friendly enough, but all in all fairly underwhelming. I'm pretty sure she forgot to put our app order in since she came back after we ordered it and asked if we were ready to order our entree, or if we wanted an app. I then reminded her we already placed an app order and she looked very confused. Our app did end up coming out eventually. It also took well over 30 minutes for them to bring bread out to the table. My wife ordered a 2nd glass of wine, and I had to ask the waitress a 2nd time for her to bring it out. When the bill came the itemized bill was for the wrong amount it had two braised ribs and a salad totaling $99, and none of the wine listed. I thought perhaps the wine had been comped due to the issue when we first arrived. I then gave the waitress my card and the receipt came back after the card was run it was for $163, which was about the correct amount, but this was not itemized, but I couldn't verify the amount. Overall the place had good food, and a nice atmosphere with live music, however our service was far sub par to what it should be for a $200 dinner for 2. The only reason it's a two star review and not one is because of the concert downtown, and the food. Not sure I will...
Read moreMade reservations 2 days prior to the state guidelines to shut down indoor dining service. Having 5 kids was looking for my husband and I to have a nice night out before everything shutting down one of my favourite restaurants he has never been . About a month ago I tried to take him here called to make sure they were open they said yes got there and they told us we needed reservations was very disappointed because prior to me calling they told me nothing about reservations. One of the only reservation times was for 7:15 p.m. Kinda late but I will take it so we have not eaten dinner get there get a text to confirm our reservation. We walk over to confirm our reservation and what do we see a sign that says closed.. You gotta be kidding me.. I ask the security guard who to speak to he tells me to go into the high roller area and ask for a host as I did. The host was very rude and basically told me that it was a computer there was nothing that they could do as I was showing him as I was standing there still getting text regarding my reservations. He told me it was a law to be shut down no I work in a restaurant they shut down their business early by choice not by the state guideline have not started yet. He told me it was all done by computer and he did not know what to tell me. I feel that they should not have been taking reservations that you should not be able to go on their website and that the restaurant say it was open as it was. I feel that somebody did not do their job properly which resulted in my husband and I standing there with reservations thinking we were going to eat dinner which never got to happen. I just had to walk away and tell him that I feel that he handled that with the most unprofessional customer service. The way that host made me feel was that I was so important to their establishment.. That I didn't even want to spend one more dollar there I left and took my money to Motor City and then headed had back down...
Read moreIf I could give 6 stars I would. We almost cancelled our reservations based on some of the reviews for Prism lately. I am sure glad we did not! The food was amazing, we had butternut squash soup, mushroom soup, short ribs (make sure to get the zip sauce!) and the brussels sprout. Not only was the food amazing, but our service was better than we could have ever desired. Our servers name was Lisa and she treated us so great, and was attentive like we were her only table in the place. She was funny, thoughtful, made great suggestions, and went above and beyond on everything. When we told her that my wife was pregnant so she wouldn't be drinking alcohol she was so excited for us and said she was going to make a little "Juicy Juice" for my wife. The Juicy Juice was a great mocktail. I can't say enough about how special we felt because of Lisa's great customer service. For my personal business I have taken customer service courses from Disney and Ritz Carlton and Lisa checked all the boxes on how to deliver outstanding customer service. We will come back here our next night out, and you should make this your place to eat on your next...
