Went here on a busy summer night. We were with a young child and ordered a churrro and a child s ice cream. I asked for my churro (which are crisp and chewy and delicious) to be served plain, without caramel all over it, but was still served a churro with caramel all over it (I am diabetic and the churro was way more than enough sugar by itself.) I must add that their churros are the best I have had outside of Disneyland in California. My sister asked for the ice cream (for a young child) in our order to be served first so she could help her eat it before we returned to the car. The server still got ice cream for several large parties (who came in behind us) before getting the one child's scoop my sister asked for and waited for at the front counter. I said that maybe they were waiting for the churro to be done, and my sister said she had been specific about wanting to please go ahead and get the ice cream before the churro so the litttle one could finish eating and go to sleep. It was quite frustrating. It was as if we weren't heard or maybe not understood. We did not complain as we were in a bit of a rush to get home, one hour away from Dickson. We have eaten an after event snack here before where we did have a small wait, but the food was all delicious, beautiful, and served in large portions. The chocolate ice cream is creamy and smooth, and deep dark...
Read moreUpdating my review to reflect our last few visits. Due to the length of time it takes to get a meal here, we stopped coming, but I still like to come in after a dinner out to grab a dessert. They expanded the place so it is huge now, and looks beautiful, but after our last few experiences, unfortunately we won't be back even for dessert anymore. Everytime I order the Mangonada it's different, and never what the menu says, sometimes it's iced, sometimes frozen, sometimes has all the ingredients listed, usually it's missing something, or 2 things. It's just irritating to find something you really like and it be so inconsistently made. And the employees there are too busy talking with each other, everything takes forever. It's a shame really, to serve amazing food, quality ingredients, good recipes and be ruined by poor staffing. I'll give them another try in a few months to see if they figured it out, but as a fellow restaurant owner, they need to get the employees together and be consistent in what they serve, or they'll continue to be dead on a Friday...
Read moreNot Dicksons best. Our waitress was non-existent & not even a little friendly. No napkins, no 'how's it going', no 'can I get you anything else', no ticket. After waiting too patiently for almost 40 minutes for her return- we decided to go to the front & wait. She was hard to track down & not happy about us getting up. The food was okay. The hostess tried cramming us between 2 other groups of people, instead of allowing us to spread out. We had to ask for a booth, & it was an awkward issue. They blasted mexican rap for a minute until playing some sort of Mexican slow dance music. It was SO loud I had to shout at my dinner date. The bean dip was runny, the salsa was okay. Rice was flavorless, not good. Too expensive & inconvenient to be this bad. They have an icecream shop counter they allow small children to sit on while their parents checkout. Disgusting.. but they have a coloring...
