I am writing my review based on my recent service that my family and I encountered.
My family and I have been coming to Miller's Ale House since they have opened. We have never encountered any issues and really enjoy the atmosphere especially during football season until recently. Even the former and new staff have been provided us great service.
I have had the most uncomfortable experience with their Manager, Carlos.
The first encounter is when I was sitting at a table outside and was rudely told to get up and leave the table because I did not go to the hostess first. Even though I was already receiveing service from a waitress. He simply placed another family at my table. The other family apologized as they did not know what was going on either. There was no assistance with trying to help us relocate other seats. I was shocked as we are regulars (we are there at least once a week if not more) and had never encountered this issue. Thank goodness for the bartender who greatly accomadated us with seats at a full bar. Gia was awesome and always smiling with willingness to assist us always.
The second encounter which is most recent is when my family and I arrived to watch a Monday night football game with friends(Eagles vs. Cheifs) with friends. It was pretty busy and their was music playing. My spouse did go inside to ask if they were playing the football game, and when he approached the Manager, Carlos, there was no response and zero acknowledgement. Carlos simply ignored my spouse completely and acted as if he was not there. In fact another Manager came up to provide assistance and simply stated that there is music that people pay to listen to and he will see what he can do. In fact they never played the game and kept the music. My friends, family and I left and went to another sports bar to watch the game down the street that was playing.
The fact that this is a second occurance is a concern as we have never had any issues and get along very well with the other managers who have always been very kind, respectful and accomadating. It is almost hard to not take this personal. It is a very unwelcoming feeling to experience this to the point where we question ourselves if we should just find another sports bar, but why we did nothing wrong here.
Other than that Miller's Alehouse is great establishment to bring your family to. I just hope no one else will got through the...
Read moreSat at the bar and received lackluster service from ALEX, regardless as someone that works in the industry I still tipped 20% in cash and put a 0 on my receipt. ALEX then proceeded to put more than 20 percent gratuity on my card therefore giving herself a 40 percent tip. After the charge posted on my card I had to call multiple managers to get updates on my refund and keep getting the runaround. I called on monday and today is sunday a whole 6 days later and still no refund. Management has thieves working for them and supports them.
EDIT: After meeting with management I was told it was an “accident” and was provided with a 25 dollar gift card. The only thing that was missing from that was the additional 22% gratuity that the bartender took from me. I was told that they could not provide me and actual refund and that it was an “accident” I over paid 23 dollars in gratuity and was compensated with a 25 dollar gift card. It seems like I was forced to basically buy one. Very weak resolution. I work in hospitality and know that managers have the ability to pull cash from the vault for misc expenses if management wasnt penny pinching and actually bothered to take care of me they could have gotten a 5 star review for the compensation but basically got told to kick rocks and come back to a restaurant I had no plans on returning too. I know I would have been fired on the spot and management would have prioritized the guest resolution at my job. A properly...
Read moreI came to Miller’s around 4:45pm and started off with a beer, mozzarella sticks, and wings. Let me just say — the wings here are absolutely amazing. I don’t go anywhere else for wings but Miller’s.
The first bartender who served me was fantastic — very attentive and quick with my order. Unfortunately, once the shift change happened, the experience went downhill for a bit. The new bartender, a young woman named Diana (or Deanna), dark hair and petite, completely overlooked me.
Even though I had finished my food and placed my empty plates and glass on her side of the bar — usually a clear sign to check in — she never once asked if I wanted another drink or more food. She walked past me several times, checked on everyone else at the bar, and even spent time chatting and flirting with a regular sitting right next to me. I waited patiently for about 10–12 minutes, but instead of acknowledging me, she went into the back near the food area.
At that point, I decided to take my things and move to the inside bar. Thankfully, that’s when Anthony took care of me — and he was top-notch. Within less than a minute of sitting down, he came over, asked what I needed, and made sure the rest of my night went smoothly.
I really do enjoy Miller’s — especially this location — and I’ll keep coming back for the amazing wings and great service I usually receive. But if bartenders like Diana/Deanna continue to ignore paying guests, that could definitely push...
