This was the worst experience you could have at any restaurant. When the bill was ready to be paid, the waitress did not return our credit card. After I signed the bill we asked for our credit card to be returned. The waitress began to insist that it was given back. So just to check if maybe we inadvertantly put it away without thinking, my wife checked her bag. To add insult to injury the waitresses then began to insist that we had used one of our other credit cards. The insult was that they implied we did not know what credit card we were using. The waitress made no meaningful attempt to look for the credit card except when another tried to look around my seat. Which again was an insult because that implied I dropped the card. We eventually had to report our card lost and deactivate the card right there in the restaurant before we left.
The next day, my wife felt strongly about the poor treatment we got, and the inconvenience of now having to adjust payment methods in our other standing payments, that she called the owner to complain. When she spoke to the owner, he reported that they had found the credit card last night in the kitchen. Clearly now, beside trying to gaslight us about returning the credit card, and trying to make us appear like the careless and stupid ones, this appears to be an attempt to steal and commit fraud with our credit card. There is no way it should have ended up in the kitchen. The sad part was that they did not call us when they had found it, and made no attempt on their part to find out who committed this criminal act and remove them from working there. It is unfortunate, but this speaks volumes on the integrity of the people that work at this restaurant. We will not return and warn folks to beware of possible further criminal behavior from...
Read moreI realize I'm in the minority here, but I really felt the food here was very poor quality. This is at best a basic take out restaurant. The Egg Drop soup felt like it came from an envelope with a little bit of egg thrown in for good measure. It wasn't the worst I've had, but it wasn't good either. The Hot and Sour soup was just a mess, way too many ingredients in there. The fried dumplings were overfried and dry. I've had frozen dumplings from Trader Joes that have tasted way better than this. The Yeung Chow Fried Rice with Shrimp, Pork and Peas was the worst dish of the evening. Fried white rice, with little pieces of dried pork and baby shrimp that you would have found in a 1970s version of a shrimp salad. Imagine a big, beautiful prawn that has been sauteed in sesame oil and garlic, infused with a citrus blend and a heavenly aroma, with a slighly firm texture and tantalizing crunchy tail. Now think of the EXACT opposite. No flavor to this dish whatsoever, it honestly tasted like it was something from yesterday's buffet line. Dried out like it was sitting under a heat lamp for hours and then doctored up with the baby shrimp. This is the kind of restaurant that you can probably order a decent Sweet and Sour type dish, or Honey Garlic something or other so as to disguise the poor quality of the food. To be fair, this is the case with most Chinese Take Out restaurants, which for the most part are of very poor quality. So, in essence, this is your standard take out Chinese Restaurant. Low quality, cheap (ish), and 'plentiful' (meaning lots of old...
Read moreI grew up going to Salon Canton in Venezuela, coming here brings me so much memories. It is impressive how they maintain their flavors and qualities from back in the day throughout the years. They have lunch specials during the week and dinner specials. Service it’s outstanding. If you are lucky like we were, Karina and Elias might take care of you and they are nothing but super friendly and helpful. Prices are excellent for the portions, I recommend this place for big groups. We order for six, ended up eating 8, had to take a little home, ordered wine and dessert and payed less than $20 per person, how good is that? Everything is super fresh and yummy, just like Venezuelan-Chinese food from the old days. Highly recommend: lo mein, special fried rice, egg rolls, honey and garlic chicken and oyster beef. Creme prawns are a must!! You need to try this...
