Novu Fusion Restaurant — Restaurant in Doral

I drove 90 minutes all the way from Boca Raton to come dine here after I saw some of their menu items on Instagram. We were dining out for my birthday, which is why we were willing to drive so far. The food lived up to expectations. Both of my dishes were very good. The atmosphere was not good, made much worse by a prolonged and very loud rearranging of table and chairs near our table. The staff dragged the tables and chairs in a way that caused them to screech against the floor, rather than lifting them quietly. It was so irritating I had to say something to one of the staff members, who did not seem to understand why or how prolonged loud noise in a restaurant would irritate patrons. She also did not apologize. Table service itself was below average. The kicker was that when I made the reservation they asked me there was a special occasion. I told them it was for my birthday. They said that was great and that they would bring out something special for my birthday. When the meal was over they of course did not bring anything out, which was disappointing. They are better off not asking about special occasions if they are not going to follow through on them. Parking in that shopping center is a bit tight. I recommend allowing extra time to navigate that when you arrive. Drive the smallest car that will fit your party when you come here. Delicious food! We went for my brothers birthday, because we saw on TikTok and google maps the food looked so good on social media. We were a little concerned at first due to the outside parking lot since there wasn’t much parking, but there was valet and we were able to get to the restaurant. Now the restaurant small on the inside but the outside lake view was more spacious. Due to the cold weather and night time here in Miami we stayed inside the resturant & let me tell you the food did not disappoint. It was so good, very different to other sushi and fusion restaurants, the flavors were delicious. OH also, the sushi was amazing, one of the BEST sushi’s I have tried compared to others in Miami, we tried “the beast” & “the Arizona”. We also had the tenderloin wrapped in bacon, super good meat option and tasty. The brownie and ice cream was amazing, brownie was so crunchy and chocolatey. They even had the firework sparkler on cake to celebrate! I want to add that our waitress ELMMY made our first time experience at NOVU worth it, she was so kind, attentive, and detailed with us and gave us the best service. We had the great pleasure of eating there today after seeing a Miami Foodie video, the moment we walked in we were greeted by everyone, the sushi chefs, the host/ server. Our server was Steven, amazing customer service, always smiling, was always around to see if we needed anything.The menus are on iPads, the view is 10/10, the decorations amazing. The fact that hey have technically two restaurants in one is such a good idea and it works so well for them. The food didn’t take long to come out at all. We ordered two entrees one was the salmon torpedo which was just amazing, I’ve never tried anything so good. Same for the THE GOAT roll, never in a million years thought goat cheese and brie tasted good together, but wow I was amazed. For drinks we got mojitos and margaritas 10/10 sweet but definitely pack a kick. For the main course we got the pork belly mixed fried rice and lemme tell you WOW, took some home for lunch tomorrow.
