We were in Dothan, Al today and decided to go eat at Dickey's Barbeque, 2115 East Main St Suite 8. We went in and were welcomed by Mike, the owner and his staff, Kierra and Swai. They asked what we were having, we had the XL pack as there was 4 of us. It came with 3LBs. of meat our choice (we had pulled pork, brisket and jalapeno sausage), 4 sides (coleslaw, loaded mashed potatoes, okra and barbeque baked beans) and 8 slices of toast. We added 4 drinks (they were the big yellow cups). We got all this for less than $100. I am so glad we went there because it reminded me of the family get togethers we had up in North Carolina. The food was top notch. The brisket had just the right amount of char from being smoked. The pulled pork was excellent, for me the only thing missing was the family recipe barbeque sauce. The jalapeno sausage was excellent just the right amount of spice to meat ratio. As for the sides, my son who doesn't like coleslaw actually ate a whole serving after tasting it ( that's saying a lot he doesn't do coleslaw at all until today), the loaded mashed potatoes were real good with bacon bits in them, the okra was cooked just right ( not at all greasy), the barbeque baked beans was really good too ( sweet but not overwhelmed with sugar). I personally don't like thick bread but their bread was light and fluffy and lightly coated with butter. If you like barbeque and a great atmosphere then this is the place to go. Mike the owner even came out of the kitchen onto the floor and spoke with the customers after everyone was served. Kierra was manning the register very proficiently and brought out some of our food and Swai did an excellent job on the fried products, she brought out our okra. The 2 girls also made sure everyone there had what they needed. They made sure everything stayed clean. Their bathrooms were clean and stocked well. I have been to several barbeque places in Alabama, but I will say none of them made us feel like we were down home like this place. We also had a lot of leftovers to take home for later. If I could give them more stars I...
Read moreThis specific store was a huge disappointment!! We went in there Saturday afternoon and surprisingly it was not busy so we were excited about that because we were hungry but only to soon be disappointed. I ordered the pork combination platter and my husband ordered a sandwich and our two girls ordered chicken breast meals. The lady at the register informed me that they did not have any burnt ends but that I can instead add an extra of whatever pork I had for options so I chose extra ribs. No big deal, we sit and wait for our food to come out which really didn’t take long at all but when it arrives EVERY SINGLE MEAT on EACH of our plates was cold!! Not even room temperature!! The only thing hot was our fries and my side of potato casserole which was probably microwaved! I did not have any ribs at all which I was supposed to have gotten some ribs as well as extra to replace the missing burnt ends but instead I had some other cut up meat and I asked the lady what that was and where were the ribs and she said she would ask but that the staff was not answering her questions but told her it was beef or something.she tried to take the plate and I asked her to just bring me the ribs because I had already touched everything because I had realized it was cold. I asked if this store always serves cold meat and she said no and that she doesn’t know why it’s cold , I just said okay and she walked away. Thank goodness for the ribs because those came out hot and I’m thankful my kids didn’t mind their chicken being cold however, that doesn’t make this acceptable. What a waste of $45. This was our first time at this location and we will not...
Read more🎯🎯🎯JUNE 12, 2022 @ 7PM🎯🎯🎯 We live in Florida and love the Dickies in Marrianna. My family of four were on our way home from going out to Oregon to watch my daughter graduate. Anyways, as late as it is I figured we would stop in and eat dinner. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, kindness, and accuracy of the staff working. We ordered 4 pulled pork plated (our favorite) with various sides on each one. My sons are 13 and 15 and VERY TALL hahaha. Being Sunday, I asked about kids eat free and the one running the till looked at kids and in a very nice tone says it depends on the age. Then she looked at my boys, lol, and says "how old are they" haha I told her their ages and she looked shocked because of their height. At any rate I went online to fine out it's kids meals for kids 12 and under to eat free. I just thought it was and wanted to share. The restaurant was very clean. The trash had been recently emptied. There were no dirty trays on the space provided. I would give this location a 10 star. Their attitudes were great, the food was amazing, and everywhere that a customer can see (including the kitchen floors) was clean. It was a very pleasant stop for my family of four. Thank you for making our last stop on the road before we arrive home a wonderful experience!
