DO NOT BELIEVE THESE POSITIVE REVIEWS! This Vietnamese owned "Japanese" bar and grill place are generating their own positive reviews to get more people to buy their low quality food!
If I could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and i went out to eat last night and the first impression of this "Japanese" bar and grill was horrible. The people working there and cooking the food aren't even Japaness, they're Vietnamese.
After sitting down and ordering our food, we smelled propane gas which (under assumption) was powering the stovetops in the kitchen. We ordered the steak and chicken plate for the main course and a couple of sushi rolls on the side. After receiving the food, we heard the host clipping his nails before getting back up to handle more food and bus tables. My boyfriend finished his main course, I could barely stomach half of mine because the chicken was very rubbery and bland. We didn't even touch our sushi and got the rest to go.
7 hours after eating, my boyfriend got extremely sick from the main course and threw up everything. He ended up getting severe food poisoning from this place and I do not recommend anyone to go here for half-assed "Japanese" cuisine that is way too overpriced for the low quality.
For anyone who wants to know, we paid almost $68 for the food...
Read moreIt's hard to find something to complain about a place that offers all you can eat sushi that's prepared to order. This isn't buffet style. It's sushi done right. For$22 you get to select from from a basic selection sheet that includes a nice choice of appetizers, soup, salad, maki and sushi. For $26 virtually the entire menu is at your disposal. They truly do keep offering more, as long as you are eating what you order. Order more than you can eat, there is an additional charge.... which is only fair.

A few years down the road, and all I can say is Mmmmmmmm, again. I just love this place.
3 Miso and 1 house soup, 1 house salad, 2 gyoza, 1 Sashimi Regular, 1 Alaska Roll, 1 Fantastic 4 roll (a Naruto roll most places), 1 salmon Hand roll,
For their 27$ all you can eat. I know this isn't like a super of the charts deal, but I'm a business owner and I don't the need to eat $100 of food just because I can. I got a great meal, a good deal, and hopefully the establishment would want to see me come back again.
Keep up the great work Oishi,I try to stop every time I pass through the area. They say for 27 .. it's anything on menu. What would happen if I ordered 4 Sashimi Deluxe? I dunno, I could easily eat it, but I'll never do it.

Read moreThe food was good, the sashimi was fresh... but that's about it. Took 10 minutes to even get menus and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant that I could see.. Our server (long brown hair) was nice, but serving us seemed like the last thing on his mind. He was busy talking to coworkers or just staring off in space while we waited.
Forgot several of our items and had to be reminded more than once. Forgot to bring my mom a water for a good 20 minutes after she got there. Again, it was slow and there were no other new customers walking in. Rung up our bill wrong by the end of our meal.. Not a great way to end a streak of bad service.
My sister and I are both servers so we know what the job entails. We still left a tip cause we aren't horrible people but he really didn't earn it...
Facility was nice enough, I wasn't overly impressed but it's fine. Considering it's a good $7 more than eating at Ooka, the service and atmosphere at Oishi was pretty disappointing. Ooka has a wider selection of food, a very nice dining area, and I've never had an issue with their service. Plus, this is just a personal disappointment, but they don't have green tea ice cream...
