Waffle House — Restaurant in Dothan

Went to waffle house after being out all day in the hot sun. We sat down to a dirty table and had to wipe it off. Their was five waitresses talking amongst one another. Finally one came over to take our order I had to ask for a menu. As we placed our order and waited on our food we thought surely she would bring our drinks. In the meantime the waitresses were amongst one another 1 was dancing another was putting lipstick on while they all stood there and carried on their own private conversation while we was still waiting on our drinks. As our waitress brought my food we were still waiting on 2 other plates. I said ma'am can we get our drinks? And she told me they wasn't aloud to give us our drinks until the hot plates were done from the cook. She said if they messed up our order she would get in trouble for not watching them cook it and making sure it was right. I asked her so I'm supose to wait and not eat my food you just brought me until you bring my drink? Now I have worked myself in many restaurants and never have I heard of this. But even if this was the rule the waitress clearly was not watching our food being prepared.While she was busy talking and giggling amongst the other waitresses she could have already brought 3 drinks to our table. After we got all of our food then drinks I never got asked did I need anything else. Had to call her over to our table when I needed more water and when I needed heinz 57 sauce. When I got ready to leave and pay my bill I noticed a table of 3 had just came in and ordered and they had their drinks already at their table before they had their food. Very poor and lazy waitressing. Will not be back to this...

EXCELLENT in EVERYTHING. greeted with a smile and it didn’t stop there. Food delicious and fast. Didnt have to ask for anything. Crew constantly cleaning when not serving customers. Can believe it they were drying silverware ensuring no spots before putting away. Professional not a “juke” joint. LOVED IT. Come check out this store. Take notes how a Waffle House should be operated. 2 concerns. I wish you could have found a way to not pass up charge to the customers. I’m sure your organization has areas to improve in. Two. I was excited to try the newest location in Dothan. I was immediately put off by not being greeted when my daughter and I walked in. Every server & the cook looked at us and did not open their mouths. Shortly after we sat down, two white men walked in, and both were greeted instantly. The same happened with a single white male who entered. Afterward, an elder black female walked in, and not one person spoke to her.
