My experience was terrible (as per usual). Surprisingly the waitress was under the age of 60 years old. Unlike any other time we've been in savilles which is pretty damn often being that we live in boyertown. Walking into the door this time I was rushed by the owner to get in the door and close it!! I shrugged it off because i work in kitchens and i know things can get hectic. We sat and the young waitress was surprisingly very kind beings that they never are our past experiences. First off, ALL of the seafood they have is FROZEN. Secondly, the waitress was not educated at all of the food. She had to run back and ask if it was fresh or frozen. My boyfriend ordered chicke croquettes (his favorite) and i ordered roast beef w brown gravy off of diner specials because I thought it was a good deal. NOW I KMOW WHY IT WAS SO CHEAP. A CAN OF ROAST BEEF ONLY COSTS LIKE $.50. The gravy was congealed by the time it reached my table. The roast beef tasted like it was for dogs and i wouldn't even feed my dog that. He may get sick. And my boyfriend hated the chicken croquettes said they tasted weird so i took a bite and it tasted like meow mix from the can and salmon flavored!! So very kindly we told the waitress we didn't like it and maybe e could get something else to share. She took the food away and the owner approached our table with "so what you didn't ike my food" and kindly I said "the taste wasn't right and it was all very mushy" and she took the check stormed away and said "then don't come back again" mind you that was in front of about 6 other paying customers. Working in the food business, definitely not what I expected. So i paid what I did eat and left. Just a heads uo to anyone who thinks this place is good and "homeade food" it isnt. And that now explains to me why 98% of clientelne and staff should be in a home!! That food isn't low enough for the dogs to eat sorry Rita!!!...
Read moreLet me first start by saying in no way is this review representative of the entire front of the house staff or the entire back of the house staff. Today 11-6-2016 I went in with my 2 little girls and wife. After waiting 25 minutes we were then seated, it's Sunday-we turned the clocks back-it's busy-I get it. We ordered right away because by this time the girls were bouncing every which way, though I would have ordered a stiffer drink if I could my wife and I ordered 2 coffees, oj, lemonade, a short stack of pancakes, an English muffin and a grilled cheese. Needless to say I could have drove to and from the store and cooked the entire meal myself twice over before anyone communicated any bit to us. A big pie in the face to both the waitress for her lack of communication and the hostess slash old whipper snapper who tried to explain to my wife that the griddle was only "this big." How about some customer service in a place that is otherwise set in another time. I would consider myself to be a somewhat regular-albeit younger then most but pleasant, heavy on the tip, and respectful to the profession that is the restaurant hustle. Advice to the owner get a hostess who isn't so defensive to the customer paying their hard earned money to provide a job for her. America is service based these days and customer service means a lot, especially to frequent dinners. Have a great day ya old...
Read moreWe went for dessert after a dinner somewhere else and I really wanted an eclair. They are famous for their eclair. I ordered, The waitress walked over to the dessert case and looked for eclairs. now I knew that it's a hit or miss because they sell out fast which I was completely okay with. The waitress looked at both dessert cases and then went underneath and open the refrigerator and then asked another waitress if she was allowed to sell the eclairs in the underneath refrigerator. Then she asked the owner of the restaurant if she was allowed to sell those eclairs and Rita the owner of the restaurant said no, Right in front of us. So she walked over and said I'm sorry we have no eclairs. if the whole scenario wouldn't have happened right in front of us I would have been completely okay ordering something else but the fact that I saw the eclairs and the owner said no that I can't have them right in front of us really put a sour taste in my mouth. I understand that they're probably pre-made for the next day because they're such a popular item but the fact that we were sitting 15 ft away from the whole conversation and witnessed it would have really made a difference to spare one eclair? So since we witnessed it we didn't order anything other than my cup of coffee we left and went somewhere else for dessert. It's a shame that the restaurant lost business because they...
