I took my husband here for his birthday last week. Initially we were going to go to Gritz for brunch but since we had a super big breakfast we decided to come here since he had a taste for Jamaican food. While we were out enjoying our day, we looked at the menu and already decided what we wanted. We even talked about it several times throughout the day Lol. We arrived about 3:30ish and were immediately seated. Our waitress took our drink order and said she’d be right back for our food order, even though we told her we already knew we what we wanted. It took her about 10 minutes to return, we proceed to tell her what we wanted when she cut us off saying brunch wasn’t over until 4pm and we couldn’t order from the dinner menu yet. Since it was already pushing 4pm my husband just suggested that we would wait to order. The waitress then said that we couldn’t do that because dinner didn’t start until after 5pm. Like wait hold on, how y’all just jump over a whole hour, what happens if you arrive between 4-5?? What menu do you order from then? She simply stated “I don’t know” At that point I was just ready to go. Then our drinks arrived and we felt obligated to stay because she stated we would still have to pay for them since they were already made which I was fine with. My husband on the other hand was hungry and ready to eat so against my better judgment we stayed. It just sucks when you have your mouth tuned up for something specific and have to change your mind at the last minute. My husband wanted the lamb chops but was told they were out so he got the salmon and grits. I opted for the chicken and waffles. I’m not a fan of spice so I asked the waitress could they not add the jerk sauce, she said “I’m not sure but I’ll ask”. We were both on our second drink by the time our food arrived. There were ppl that was there before us as well as ppl that came after us, no lie, all of our food came out simultaneously. When my plate arrived, sure enough it had the sauce on it. The waitress stated she forgot to ask. Overall the food had a nice flavor but was a tad too spicy for my liking. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive as we had to ask other waitresses for simple things as water extra napkins and even the ticket. This automatic 20% gratuity that these restaurants are now requiring is making it easier to receive subpar service due to the fact they are getting tipped regardless. All in all, I would return just to try the dinner menu and hopefully get a more...
Read moreIt’s a new restaurant so I’m giving grace for giving 2 stars. I decided to try Miracle 3 days ago because so many of my friends alerted me to this new restaurant in my city, Douglasville. I’m pescatarian and noticed they had fish options on the menu. The environment was clean, well decorated and welcoming. I noticed the floors felt greasy. It was only a group of 3 people seated in the restaurant. I sat at the bar and inquired about the steam mussels. I wanted to know if it was served in a flavorful broth or soup, the bartender said she didn’t know and didn’t try to find out. So I decided not to try the mussels. I ordered the jerk red snapper (my favorite fish), a side of plantains, mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. Wait time was 50 mins. I got it to go but tried the plantains before leaving. The plantains were dry as French fries and not sweet so I asked for some jerk sauce. I received my check and noticed I was charged $3 more than the menu. I advised the bartender and she said “they need to update the website” I’m thinking, well I should still be charged the menu price because I wasn’t informed about the error before now. She still ran my card. Before signing my receipt, I thought it was gonna be fixed when she informed the manager. The manager looked at the menu and giggled and said they need to change that and asked the bartender if she was contacting him to fix it. She didn’t offer to adjust my ticket. I didn’t make a big deal about it and still left an additional tip to my already 20% (wow) required tip because I doubt many tips would be left on that rainy day. Let’s talk about the rest of my meal; The red snapper was flavorful but tough, I literally had to pull the flesh from the bones and picked bones out before eating. I tried the mac and cheese on the car, it was dry and had too much parsley. The mashed potatoes was creamy and good. I wasn’t gonna write a review until I tried it a second time. I looked on the website today and the menu was not corrected. I hope they improve by training staff about the menu or ask the chef if they don’t know about a dish. I also hope they update their website to reflect true prices, it’s not fair...
Read moreWe emailed serval days in advance about hosting a large party. The owner replied saying they can accommodate us. We got there ready to eat because we saw the beautiful amazing video on Facebook with the food. They could not accommodate us downstairs so we had to walk upstairs. No music or TVs were on for us. We had to ask for them to put something on. When we scanned the menu we had questions because the description of the food was not listed. The waitress told us the description of the food from her phone. She told us they did not have any appetizers for brunch nor could we get any because we had to order from the brunch menu. We spoke with the owner he told us he would give us French toast, That didn’t happen. I felt so bad for the waitress because she had to walk up and down the steps by her self carrying soda, lemonade and ice. The soda tasted awful the coke was not real coke, the sprite was not good, no sweet tea and the lemonade was bitter. We did not have real silverware they gave us plastic silverware and plastic cups to use. The food started to come out and peoples orders were not cooked throughly (lamp chops) they took the plate and re-cooked them. The Rude Boy dish did not come with what they said. It said 2 pancakes( which they didn’t have) 3 jumbo shrimps( which I didn’t get ) eggs and bacon. I received all but the pancakes, bacon and jumbo shrimp they gave me handful of shrimp. The waffles were hard and looked like frozen waffles. I thought it would’ve been a Belgian waffle. After we complained we asked them how long have they been open the waitress said 4 weeks. We all said oooh I see. Lastly, we received our tickets and the prices on the receipt did not match the menu prices. We complained and the owner gave us 50% off the bill. We were very disappointed and will not be returning. I think would do well if they had more waitresses, knew the menu and knew what is actually supposed to come with the food and definitely have the prices match the prices...
