I love the food here, but my last couple experiences have been terrible. I either purchase the brown stew snapper, that went from $14-$17 and now $20 or the Oxtail which is also a pricey option. I understand the prices go up but last time I paid $20 for what looked like a baby fish. You got to be serious! I go in today to buy a large oxtail which is also an expensive plate, at $18.75. I get back to work to eat and open my box to realize the tiny pieces of oxtail. I call and am told a LG oxtail only gets 5 pieces, I’ve bought different sizes in the past and received much bigger pieces then what they are claiming is a large. It’s hard to keep supporting, when I feel like they are taking advantage of me and over charging like I haven’t ate there before. On top of that, I didn’t even get my plantain. I don’t have a problem spending $20 if it’s worth it, I spend a lot, every time im there and it seems like the prices go up and portions...
Read moreThe food here is good I’ll give them that BUT the cashier is horrible. I have a couple businesses and I am very big on customer service!! When you go in she doesn’t greet you doesn’t say hi or welcome or anything she doesn’t even smile. She comes to the register and just stands there and looks at you and waits for you to order. She also doesn’t know the menu well I asked for stuff she told me it was there I went home didn’t have it. So I thought that was my first time there maybe it was me. I go back a second time it’s the exact same attitude and I told her what was wrong with my platter the last time and what was missing and they do t even sell the stuff I asked for so she was just charging me for anything. I thought this would be a good place because it’s close to me in Dover but I’m good I’m going to Maxwells up in philly THEY are worth the 2 hour drive! I wish I had read the reviews before...
Read moreThe food is delicious & inexpensive with large portions. I always order curry chicken - I need the recipe! I would love it if it came in boneless chicken version & the potatos are sooo good covered in the curry sauce. Perfect amount of spice! I love the plantains too even though sometimes they're not ripe & dry. The owners & their son are sooo nice, but there's a younger girl who has started working as the cashier who deters me from coming in. She doesn't say hello or ask if she can help or what I would like to order. It's very awkward when you come in she literally just looks at you, I was unsure at first if she worked there. The woman owner is so sweet, I miss her genuine customer service. I've seen her at the mall before & we hugged. She even stood up for me when my ex cheated on me (he introduced me to their shop). Lol Still my favorite Caribbean food...
