Read moreIt doesn’t feel great to trash a new restaurant, but they have enough good reviews that this probably won’t make a difference. The dishes kind of look like their namesakes but are just not what they are supposed to be. The tonkotsu broth was thin and completely without fat or stickiness. It’s very difficult to imagine that this was made from a bone broth and not a dehydrated mixture or some mass produced commercial concentrate. We ordered the spicy option, but it wasn’t. It had kind of a grey color instead of that nice milky gelatinous shine. The Korean Fried Chicken was just not even close to Korean fried chicken. It’s kind of insulting for them to even call it that. In addition to it being texturally nothing like Korean fried chicken, it was spectacularly flavorless. I asked the server if we had received the spicy one we had ordered and she just said, “yeah, it’s not actually spicy” and walked away. The agedashi tofu was not. It was fried tofu, but the sauce was some sweet, thick, sticky nonsense that bore no resemblance to tentsuyu. The miso ramen was different from the tonkotsu only in that the broth was warmer. We couldn’t finish any dish, nothing is sitting well in our bellies, and it feels weirdly dishonest to call any of those dishes what Ichi...
Read moreI came here with my friends. We all ordered different things and tried the different apps. We got the Korean fried chicken and the chicken karaage. The karaage was hard and tough. It seemed over cooked. The Korean fried chicken was pretty good. Honestly the saving grace of this restaurant. If this restaurant sold these by the dozen, I’m there. For my main course I got the Gyudon. I was dumbfounded by the ratio of meat to rice. It was 90 percent rice and like 10 percent meat. I told the waitress of my concern but she told me just to pay extra for more meat next time. Honestly not worth. I feel like it would’ve been nicer to just put less rice, smaller bowl, same amount of meat for a cheaper price. It would’ve made it more worth. My other friends tried the fried rice, cheese kimchi ramen and the bimbimbap. The fried rice didn’t look like fried rice, the kimchi cheese ramen tasted like instant ramen, and the bibimbap was alright. Overall an okay experience. This place has a lot of potential, it’s very rare to see Korean/Japanese restaurant. I want this place to succeed. Hopefully they take this feedback and improve, I will give this place...
