Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Dover

This is the absolute WORST papa John's,maybe even the worst pizza place in delaware.Its always had issues and I didn't think it could get much worse than it was about 10 months ago when they're delivery driver took 2 and a half hours to bring my order when I was the ONLY delivery and im a 5 min tops drive from there .The driver was SO inebriated when he FINALLY made it to me ,he legitimately couldn't open the bag to give me my pizza and he couldn't figure out how to give me the receipt ...Which is a REALLY basic task .I was so concerned about him driving at that point .i asked him repeatedly if he had any medical issues but it was really clear he was just BOMBED.I don't know HOW papa John's sent this guy out on the road with the general public because it was very obvious.i got some video and called the mgr because I couldn't get him to stay put until either the store picked him up or the cops and sent the video .You would assume he was fired right ??NOPE..They sent him home but just for THAT day ...I was hoping they'd improved some but fast fwd to this weekend. I ordered from there for my husband's bday because papa John's is his favorite and he very recently came home from a lenghty deployment .The order took hours to come,plenty of time to cook 5 times over but everything ordered was literally ALL dough other than the very edge of the pizza..It was REALLY obvious it was nowhere cooked but I couldn't get the store to answer when trying to get a mgr over and over and I was very frustrated and gave up.So ,again ,my husband's favorite is papa John's so he wants to give them ONE more shot this past week because we had a promo code .🤦‍♀️We go to place the order around 6 and instead of going to the confirmation page it started all over and it the promo code wasn't working anymore. I call the store,obviously and after 4 hours and 5 calls disconnecting after someone answered and put me immediately on hold, the store closed .I was able to get the promo code working again the next day so we tried AGAIN. This time the order went through easily and was set to be delivered in 45 -60 mins .After an hour and 45 the status showed it was being delivered but for more than another hour the drivers location hadn't moved from the papa John's parking lot Then the status changed and showed order had been delivered. I work remotely so I get logged out (which started my short timed break)and go outside to grab my order from where I had asked them to leave it and Guess WHAT??!??NO order anywhere in site..😡🤬😡 so I yet again call the store .i was able to get a mgr then and explained the issue and she said "Oh nope,he's coming .he had to go somewhere and then he's going to be headed to you " So I asked why the status had changed to delivered when they were still working on another delivery .She had obviously known it was marked as delivered when the driver was on the other side of town with another order and it was nowhere near delivered. This "manager" just ignored my question and said he would be to me soon ..Mind Blown with the idicracy and incompetent management.The order was finally delivered cold and soggy 10 mins after I had to get back to work so not only did I waste my break dealing with their bs ,I wasn't able to eat until midnight when i was finished work.This franchisee needs to either shape up or close up because they're ripping people...

I ordered at 8:12 PM (contactless delivery). At 9:20 PM, a driver showed up and rang the doorbell (for non contactless delivery) with the wrong order. I pointed out that the address on the box was not my address. He went back to his car and drove away without saying anything. I then called the store and spoke with Jay. He assured me that my order was with a different driver and that it would be there in 10-15 minutes, and to call him back if not. I waited 20 minutes and then called back. Jay asked me to look outside and see if it got dropped off (I knew it hadn’t because I had been continually checking, but I looked anyway). He then told me that he is just a shift supervisor and couldn’t do anything. I asked if he could at least remake the order and send it. He said ok but it won’t be contactless. I told him that it doesn’t really matter anymore because the first order was supposed to be contactless and the guy rang the doorbell and waited anyway. He said ok and hung up. An hour and a half later I called back again asking what is going on with my now 3 hour old order. He said that the original driver assured him it got dropped off, that his driver wouldn’t lie, and that I was wrong. I told him that I am positive that I do not have pizza and obviously the driver dropped off my order at the other house first or else he would have come back from his car with my order.

I did not get any pizza tonight. I can only leave a minimum of 1 star but not having any food at all and being accused of lying really deserves less than 1 star. This may be the worse service I have ever...

I have really tried to give Papa Johns in Dover a chance time and time again, but the past three deliveries have been frightening for a pizza place that cames better ingredients better pizza, Papa Johns. It's anything but at this location. It's really a shame this place will have to keep getting our business because my husband thinks this place is amazing. The first delivery our driver was over an hour late, and the pizza definitely reflected that. The second delivery- while I'm familiar with PJ's cheese and crust being fluffy and mouth watering this time it was on time, but tasted like it had been sitting and was less than lukewarm complemented by a hard flat crust and a hardening cheese topping. The third delivery- came on time, but once again was disappointed by semi warm, sitting, flavorless and thin crusted pizza. Also, if you have papa points rewards, every time that you get something free this location makes sure to make it almost inedible by burning it, or it's hard as rocks, but is not the case if you don't have the points saved and buy it. Papa Johns is a good pizza chain from other locations, but steer clear of this location, there is a reason it's barely holding a 3 star rating. One mistake is fine every now and then, but not every...
