Serious Safety Hazard â Foreign Object in My Childâs Smoothie
On 5/28/25 I ordered A Chia banana boost with dark chocolate added from this Tropical Smoothie CafĂ© location for my 1- and 2-year-old children to share they both ingested a foreign blue rubber object that had been blended into their smoothie. After retrieving the object, I discovered what the item was with absolutely no help whatsoever from the staff that served me the smoothie. I later found out myself what it was and that it has chemical compound and lead exposure warnings. We had to rush both children to the emergency room for evaluation and treatment. The emotional trauma and fear weâve experienced as parents is indescribable.
What makes this even more horrifying is that the store is continuing to use the same container/equipment, despite being made aware of the incident. I have photos, physical evidence, medical documentation, and witnesses. Iâve also reached out to corporate multiple times with no response.
This is not just bad customer serviceâthis is a public health risk, especially to young children. Iâm filing complaints with the health department and the FDA, and pursuing legal action to ensure this never happens to another family.
Please be extremely cautious. If youâre a parent, think twice before ordering here until they address this...
Read moreIf i could leave 0 stars, i would. My friend received a dangerous smoothie with a blue chunk of rubber blended into their smoothie, that a 1 and 2-year-old child consumed. Now the restaurant will not contact them. Tropical Smoothie is taking 0 responsibility & even after an employee admitted seeing the broken cap on their peanut butter sauce that was used in my friendâs daughterâs & sonâs smoothie! My friend tried to call the store to speak to a supervisor 3x & got nothing in return. She was laughed at by the grown man that made the smoothie & luckily she spoke with a sweet teenager as night shift took over but the way Tropical Smoothie in Dover, Delaware is handling this is absolutely shameful. Consequences will be held! They had a chance to rectify & show a little ownership & grace, but its pitiful that they are more concerned with their image then the well-being of their customers & their customers infant & toddler children. Do not go here! Your kids may end up in the...
Read moreKenny Patel is a liar and does not stand on his word. My family sat outside for hours to get the code for free smoothies. When he handed the codes out he skipped the people that was with me. Before he handed the cards all out my wife tried to stop him and he said no. Once he realized his mistake he told us heâd be getting new cards from corporate and to call him in a week. I held up my end of the deal and called. He doesnât work weekends. I left my number. He never called back. I left my number again. He never called. I finally get him at the store and he tells me corporate said no and that he canât help me. I offered a suggestion and he tried to make it seem that I was trying to get over on him since I already had two codes. Overall Kenny Patel told me that he wonât help and I walked out and...
