Karissa was AMAZING. Luigi, the manager, is pretty terrible. When asking to sub onion rings instead of fries proved to be a huge issue. I even said I would pay extra. He kept going, "wellllll.... Idk if I can. Well, if other places like milford and the beach do it, then they are not doing it by the book..." which they always do. Not to mention, I have an autistic child, so he only gets a hamburger patty no roll or anything plain. I always pay al a carte for that, but he was not willing to do that. He said he didn't care. He said he would do the onion rings but not a la carte for the burger patty only. The French fries were grease logged and cold. My chicken cheese steak was cold, and the mozzarella sticks were as well. The worst part was the pizza. We asked for extra cheese and no swirl (kiddos hate the swirl. They are toddlers) the pizza was greasey, cold, and NO EXTRA CHEESE. First, if you are going to raise the prices, then you need to make sure you provide the results. A large pizza is 21.99 and 3 dollars extra for extra cheese. There is no way this was extra cheese. We frequent the milford location and beach, and they are so much better. When asking the waitress what is going on with all the issues, she said she apologized for it, but it was extra cheese the kitchen said. The picture will be below. There were no customers, really. Just one other table and a few at the bar. This place was so much better when Emily was manager. Bring her back. Luigi does not need to be working there. He is not personable and sucks as a manager overall. He seems unhappy the entire time. Overall, the price was 73 dollars for garbage. So upset, and no reason to get Luigi for help because he wasn't going to help according to staff. NOT WORTH THE MONEY! Wish I could give a zero stars!

We parachuted in, looking for something substantial and local, hoping to find a gem. To consider the decor, imagine if a Friendly's and a Pizza Hut loved each other very much, and Grotto's hung out a lot with crazy uncle Chuck E. Cheese... That hopefully conveys the vibe. There's an attached sports bar grafted on, stolen from a hotel lobby, and a game room hungry for your change. The to-go counter undeniably betrays its Friendly's heritage. The pizza arrived with a delicious swirl of red sauce deliberately evident in the three cheese blend and a crispy thin crust that would make a Brooklyn local proud. I have no doubt this place is packed on nights after big games and for birthdays -- and if it's not, then the area doesn't realize the treasure they have hidden away, tucked in the strip mall across from Delaware State University. Service was attentive and prompt, parking was ample, and it was barely an easy eight minutes off the highway. If you're cruising through Delaware and wondering where to stop for a bite, Grotto's is worth the sidetrek. If you're local, I'm probably not telling you anything you don't already know. Get you some Grotto's, you won't regret it

I just had to laugh at our experience. Stopped in on the way to the beach as it was late evening and we wanted our favorite pizza. 4 tables total occupied in restaurant, we were seated, 2 employees passed by us probably 20 times neither one saying a word or looking at us. Waited 20 minutes for a girl to say she would be right with us (same one that kept waiting table right behind us). She knew we were ready to walk out. Big mistake coming here, pizza was delicious so that's why I gave it a star but wish I could give negatives. What we hoped to be a semi short stop, ended up an hour. No sense in complaining to staff because they all stood around on phones or talking, obviously didn't care to check on us. I have NEVER seen a popcorn machine this dirty, looks like it caught fire..nope..girl closed up machine for the night and left it as is. Never EVER will go back to this one, this location gives Grotto's a bad look!! Visited 7/17/19. 8pm

10/16/2020 around 7pm ish My better half and I got to have a spontaneous dinner date which is extremely rare considering it’s hunting season. We first stopped at Outback but luckily they had a wait. We called Grottos and got right in but I did feel a little bad because when the girl answered she immediately asked me if I wanted to hear the specials, I said yes in a minute do you have a wait right now. She said no I said we will be right in and hung up. As we told the masked hostess we were a party of two I asked if she answered the phone. She did not unfortunately so I explained that I felt bad to whoever did answer because I didn’t stay on the phone long enough to hear the specials. Now we are seated... our server Tessa walks up and introduced herself and asked what I would like to drink. My better half was in the bathroom so I said coke for him and asked if they had cherry coke. She said no but I can make it for you. Omg already I’m super excited about this dinner. My drink was delicious. My better half loves French onion soup however hates onions, I know weird right? However he still always asks if the kitchen can make it without onions. Tessa said I’ll be right back. They said they will do their best. Y’ALL ...there was not one onion in the broth. The kitchen staff knocked my mans favorite soup out of the park. I ordered the Shrimp and Corn soup.... to be honest it was a beautiful symphony of flavors with a feisty kick at the end. Out of this world. We also ordered slices of pie I added ham and pineapple... amazing choice. So good all by itself. No spices needed. My man got local PA mushrooms on his...delicious Oh we had a great discussion about subs vs. sandwiches when you pack them in a lunch...sometimes soggy and sticks to the roof of your mouth...no bueno. Overall. Tessa is an absolutely phenomenal server. Not only is she down to earth and puts off a great vibe but she takes care of her tables. Ask for her, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Kitchen staff....y’all rock. Straight up. Thank you Grottos Pizza in Dover for hosting our date night. Thank you Tessa for making our dinning experience very memoriable. Thank you kitchen staff for putting...

We went to grottos on the 11th for dinner and I believe our servers name was Jordan.

So we ordered the sidewinder Fries, 18 wings, a large pizza and a large cheesesteak. Our food ALL came out at one time, even though we ordered the fries and wings as APPETIZERS. The bar drinks we bought took over 10 minutes to come to table even though we were one of the only 3 tables in the ENTIRE store. The LARGE cheesesteak with extra cheese we ordered, came out with THE SKIMPIEST amount of steak. It didnt even cover the entire large sub roll and it had no extra cheese. I told our server we didn't want the cheesesteak because of that. They did remove it from the bill, but our server acted like it was a huge problem; we didn't even touch the cheesesteak mind you. Just looked at it. I was explaining to him what my issue was and why I wanted it removed and he just grabs the plate and walks away while I am in mid sentence. I believe in tipping so he did get his tip, but the service could've been far better than what we received. I do believe from this point forward, we will be visiting the Camden store from now on. Maybe the employees of the younger generation could use a bit more training in customer service or just some...
