For a slightly late lunch, a friend and I went to The June Cork Pub, eager to try out their Bri'ish food. On a President's Day Monday at 1pm, the establishment seemed at just under half occupancy. I thought I needed to wait for seating, but staff said I could pick any table and they'd head over shortly. My friend and I ordered the sausage roll ($12) and scotch egg ($13) appetizers to share, and I ordered the bangers and mash ($19) entree for myself. The sausage roll, cut up into 6 slightly larger than bite-sized pieces, consisted of flaky and buttery pastry with herbal, earthy, and slightly crumbly sausage out of its casing. Imaging homemade breakfast sausage, but less sweet and more sharp. The accompanying brown mustard provided a nice contrast, yet remained relatively mellow. It also came with a bit of field greens so I could pretend to be healthy. The scotch egg arrived as a textbook example of a softboiled egg with a yammy yolk. The outer sausage shell tasted similar to that of the sausage roll. The accompanying chili jam cut down on the savoriness just a touch; it melded tart, spiciness, and sweetness yet also remained mellow, not overpowering the egg. My entree, the bangers and mash, proved exceptional. The peas were some of the brightest, most vibrant, juicy and crisp peas I'd ever had. Each one had just a slight burst at the bite. The caramelized onions adorning the mash had been browned down a long time, like what you'd expect in French onion soup. The mash itself, made from red potatoes, tasted robust and rich with being overly dense or overly reliant on butter (not shaming butter, but these potatoes deserve to shine, not be drowned out). The bangers themselves possessed crisp, taunt casings with juicy interiors. I would almost describe it as "fresh" in the same way I would describe high-quality vegetables. Weird, but I don't know how else to express this sentiment. Service was a bit slow, probably from the Monday holiday. Since it was technically a weekday, I was able to order $4.5 bud lite drafts from the happy hour menu (Mon-Fri 1-230pm). Overall, I walked away quite impressed from what was me randomly picking a place to get lunch after being at White Birch Armories at opening to beat the range wait.

First time I went was mid-afternoon, and ordered the Cullen Skink. What I got was broth and virtually no taters or fish. Complained twice, but no real response, and it wasn't taken off the bill. Hmm. Soups and stews in mid-afternoon can be iffy. Had the same issue at a pub on the tip of the Dingle peninsula. Mid-afternoon, and we were lucky to get leftovers from their fridge, which turned out to be -the- most delicious mussel&haddock stew I'd ever had. We were lucky - they were only going to serve us drinks at first. Anyways, back to June Cork: I then got the burger - I was still hungry, and was still in a mood to continue "the test". Burger and handcut chips were delicious, and cooked to my request, so I gave them another chance. The next visit was a "proper" one, during dinner time a few weeks later, rather than a walk-in at some wierd time of day like the first. You have to give them a chance to shine by visiting during peak hours. A cup of Cullen Skink was as you'd expect - lots of fish&taters. Very yummy! Then tried the Welsh Pasty, which was a bit smaller than expected, but sufficient and -very- tasty. Love Lamb in my pasties and Shepherds Pie Spent the rest of the night there chatting with folks at the bar, and bought 3 appetizers to take home. A very good night. 4 apps, a meal, and ... 5? ... drinks came to around $100, as expected.

My wife and I took our niece to lunch at The June Cork Pub in Dover today. What an amazing place. It was our first time in. It felt like a true British pub transported to Dover(Pic 1). The soccer championship was playing live on every screen and the place was packed. My wife ordered the Chicken Sandwich with Fries(Pic 2), our niece ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders with Fries(Pic 3) and I ordered the Fish Tacos Special with Housemade Chips(Pic 4). The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. Despite how busy they were, we were waited on and served promptly. If you haven't been you should make it a point to give them a try. The menu has a lot to offer and there's something for everyone. I know we'll be back. Dine on!

I have never experienced a worse experience at a restaurant. My girlfriend and I went to the June Cork as it appeared very busy. We were underwhelmed by the lack of beer choices and very odd and sweet food (pulled pork egg rolls, fish tacos with a pineapple sauce) at a self proclaimed authentic English pub. My girlfriend has a food and beer blog and she wrote a review explaining that we didn’t understand the attraction and would need to come back and try again. The moderator of their page responded to the review by saying they “ weren’t trying to impress us or her 133 subs” and to not return. They then blocked her. Any company that conducts itself in such a manner better be able to back it up with good food or beer selection. The June Cork cannot on either account. Terrible beer selection, sub par food and hideous customer service. Strongly recommend you go anywhere else.

Response to your comment: at no point did you offer any response other than the comment about followers and telling us not to come back. If you would have taken the time to read the entire post you would have seen it wasn’t even a negative review. It was mixed and ended with “we will have to give it another chance” to see what the allure is. As for you feeling personally attacked? Get over it. You’re a business owner of a restaurant. And obviously by your comment about the number of followers, you aren’t worried about the page being a viable threat to your children or livelihood. The only reason I am being “relentless” is that I want to give others the opportunity to see our honest opinions of your pub, and show them what they get to look forward to from you, the business OWNER, should they not like your food and beer selection. Your attitude and customer service is what I have the biggest issue with. Being an owner/manager you would expect to want everyone and I mean everyone to come back in and try it again. That’s why 99.99999% of reputable restaurants say “we are sorry you didn’t have an enjoyable stay! Come back In and try __ (what you think you do a good job with) and let us prove to you why the June Cork is best in Dover NH!!” But instead you were childish, rude and showed the entire Internet how the owner treats its...

Been there tonight with a friend, we asked for two beers, one draught and one bottled and it was fine. It was his first time at the June and he liked the atmosphere, he's also a sports fan so his first impression of the place was good. Things started to go down the hill when we ordered food. My pal ordered wings and breadsticks, I ordered mussels and another bottled beer. It took 30 minutes before my friend's wings and breadsticks showed up. The mussels... Well... They were nowhere to be seen. Same for my bottled beer. I waited a bit more, and a bit more up to the point my friend ate his food, well, half of his wings and breadsticks because the wings were salty and overcooked and the breadsticks were really dry! My mussels and beer never came to the table after 50 minutes. The lady walked back to us and told me I had to wait a bit longer. I asked what for? The food? She said yes. The beer? She said yes too. I then asked her why shall I wait more than 50 minutes for a bottled beer she could just grab one from the fridge and bring over when my friend was able to finish his meal? She just apologized and went back to speak with her colleague. She had absolutely no explanation as to why I never get the mussels nor my beer. At this point, we just asked for our check and we left. This place used to be really good when they opened, I actually met both owners and they were willing to do something cool with what used to be an old pizza restaurant. My first time in the June Cork was awesome, so were the 2nd and third times. This was my fourth and it was AWFUL! It was my friend's first time and he swears he would never come back. I wish the owners were back behind the bar cause right now you only have two ladies that spend most of their time chatting and clearly can't be bother about customers' satisfaction. And God knows what is happening in the...
