This review is more for Wendy's corporation rather than the staff at this Wendy's in Dover.
Putting in the double drive-thru was not a good idea. It's terrible across the street at McDonald's, and it's no better here. What an absolute cluster. They were short staffed tonight so the lobby was closed. I sat in the drive through line for nearly 25 minutes to pick up a DoorDash order. People were beeping, and at one point, the person in front of me started to get out of his car and I started to think he was about to walk up to the window. If you're that short staffed, either close one of the drive-thru lines because they just cause more confusion, stop taking online orders, or just close for the evening.
I felt terrible for the staff (who were remarkably patient and amazing, so someone needs to give them some kudos), but I also felt bad for my customers who had to wait, especially the ones who weren't even waiting for Wendy's, as well as the other customers who had to sit in that line. Absolute nightmare.
Editing this to add that today, October 15th, 2021 again I sat in this drive through for a customer for nearly half an hour before the customer canceled, I wasted a half an hour of my life, my gas, not to mention how many other orders I missed out on during peak hours while doordash was offering an extra $3 a delivery. Their lobby is never open, that's how understaffed they are. At the time I took the picture I'm posting there were probably 20 cars in line and by the time I bailed, easily seven other cars had bailed.
This place is horrible. Do not go here. Do not give your money to Wendy's until they stop treating their customers and their staff...
Read moreLast time my boyfriend and I came here we went thru the drive thru lane #2 and one of the workers asks us if he can take our order, we asked for a minute to look at the menu not 20 minutes. We kept saying hello hello? And yes , the other lane kept on moving forward so we sat there for another 10 minutes before we just drove up to the window and ordered because nobody was answering lane 2 anymore. We get to the window and the women is annoyed at us because we told her we sat there for 20 minutes and nobody was answering us. She said they were very busy and my bf wasn’t gonna say anything so I said we’ve been sitting in the other lane while people behind us in the opposite lane (lane 1) kept ordering. She ignored me completely an asked what we want to order at the window and asked us to pull up to the door an they’d run our food out once it was done. This door was pretty much still in front of the cars in the drive thru. Read moreOrdered a few items at the drive-thru the other evening. Amount due was $7.37, I gave the woman $10.50 and was expecting $3.13 in change. Instead, I was handled $2.63 and my food immediately, when I pulled away from the window I realized the change was incorrect and I wasn't given a receipt. Since it was late and there wasn't everyone in the drive-thru I backed up to the window and told the employee I was given the wrong change and asked for my receipt. Unfortunately, the receipt did not show the accurate amount I gave her ($10.50) -- it showed that the cash tendered was the exact amount $7.37. Therefore, she did not enter in the cash register the actual amount I have her and the actual (but incorrect) amount she gave me back. She would not admit fault and denied giving us the wrong change back - now I'm not petty over 50 cents because thats what I lost in the end but am more suspicious about this being a common occurrence at this Wendy's. Was my 50 cents pocketed by the lady (if it was she clearly needed the money more than I did) or was this an honest mistake and the cash register was off at the end...
