Alfredo's Taqueria — Restaurant in Downers Grove

We've gone here quite a bit as it's one of the few places that can accommodate my better half's gluten/dairy/soy allergy. We've always ordered to go as we found this place during the pandemic, but last night 6 of us decided to get food after the arboretum light show and decided to dine in.

I've always gotten burritos or tacos, but they had a Saturday night special for 2 cheeseburgers and I decided to give it a shot - they were great! Someone else got the nachos and they were amazing - lots of guacamole on top, good portion, great flavor. Someone else got a steak burrito and thought the quality of the steak was good/they wished they had a Mexican restaurant like this by their house.

Amber took care of us and checked to make sure we were taken care of every few minutes - but it was just clear she wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The cook chatted with us afterwards and was pleased we enjoyed the meal/thanked us for coming in.

Alfredo's is an absolute gem! Their entire menu is filled with great choices, but the tacos and flan truly take the dining experience to another level. The service at Alfredo's is consistently top-notch, and it's all thanks to the wonderful staff, especially Jose. He goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home and ensures your every need is taken care of. Trust me when I say, you won't be able to stop praising Jose after just one encounter with him.

Last month, I had the pleasure of having them cater a party for me, and it was an absolute hit! The ladies couldn't stop raving about how fresh and delicious everything tasted. Is your mouth watering yet? Head over to Downers Grove and indulge in the best tacos EVER. But don't leave without trying the flan - it's a must! I can guarantee you'll relish every single bite.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants ive been to. On top of everything (see below), both burritos gave me and my friend FOOD POISONING. I got the shredded chicken burrito with enchilada sauce on top. My friend got the steak burrito. Both were cold, there was hardly any chicken in mine. Both said they came with beans, but we could not find any in either. When I asked the woman at the register if they put any in, she proceeded to argue with me for a second, but finally gave me a side of beans. My friend asked for both salsas on the side, only got one. The chips didnt come with any dipping salsa, just ones in bottles which both were subpar. I asked for a cup of water and essentially forced to buy a bottle for 1.29 since their machine did not work. The entire place looked under construction, which wouldnt have bothered me if the food was okay. Just another thing to add...
