If I could give Dr. Kurian zero stars, I would. On 1/22/2020, I went to her office as a first time patient for excruciating pain in my lefthand side/abdomen area. It was the worst pain of my life and it was hard to breathe. I didn't take any painkillers at the advice of their office so they could see the full range of symptoms. Dr. Kurian did a standard exam of pushing on the area that was in pain, took one look at my chart, and said something to the effect of "well, it says here you lift weights 3x per week. And, you only experience pain when I push on the affected area. I am giving the diagnosis of muscle soreness and recommend that you rest." I told her that I am feeling pain all the time, not just when pressure is applied. She ignored me.
I have been working out for years and this was nothing like muscle pain. I insisted that she reconsider or run any urine tests (I thought maybe it could be something with my kidney) and she refused. She said, and I quote "Well your appendix is on the right side of your body so it isn't that. There really isn't anything there that can be causing your pain". I only was awarded a urine test after I asked her to record that she refused to give me a urine test at my request. I took the urine test and had blood drawn in the office lab and was informed I would not get my results for THREE WEEKS!! I was sent home, still, in excruciating pain.
That night, I went to the emergency room. A $2,000 hospital bill later and after talking to doctors that actually know what they are talking about, I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst that had ruptured. Really? There is nothing on that side of my body except, I don't know, a female reproductive system and an ovary? Dr. Kurian does not have the empathy needed to diagnose patients, especially as a fellow woman. I was invalidated and ignored. It cost me $2,000 when I could have gotten a referral to an OBGYN and probably an appointment same day or a day later instead of an ER visit.
The reason I am leaving this review now is because I finally found a receipt with Dr. Kurian's name on it, reminding me of that horrible time. If you value your health, find a different doctor - especially if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDr. Kurian is a great doctor and takes good care of her patience. I wish I could say the same for the nurses. I called to see if I could get an emergency appointment because my blood pressure has been extremely high 178/109 and up to 178/118. However, one of her nurses suggested I go to immediate care. I can't afford to get mad so I hung up on her. After, she called me back to offer me an appointment in 6 days. Let's hope I make it. How can you sleep at night knowing you could have helped and you didn't. I would go to Immediate Care or the Emergency room but it always ends with Go See Your Doctor. Besides Immediate Care is truly disappointing & I'd rather not waste my time or money to come back undiagnosed...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely love Dr. Kurian. She listens well and actually hears what you're saying and have concerns about. She also is extremely considerate. I came in for one issue and then she found out I was scheduled for a physical in a few weeks and instead of having me come back just did my physical in the same appointment. I have always found her to be an excellent physician and I highly...
