DELICIOUS! AMAZING! FANTASTIC!
Afghan food has a very special place in my heart. Itās very comforting and reminds me of my childhood. My family and I decided to try out this new Afghan restaurant since we were around in the area.
When we got there the server sat us immediately and provided us with our menus. He was attentive and made sure everything we ordered is exactly what we want. All the meats are certified halal which is awesome!
We ordered the bolani (leek & potato), qabili, chicken, lamb, and beef kebobs, banjan (eggplant), and firni (custard).
The food was exceptional. It tasted so homemade and authentic. Iāve been to plenty of Afghan restaurants throughout SoCal and personally this is my favorite one Iāve been to thus far. You can tell the food was made with lots of love. It even tasted just as good as my momās cooking and I NEVER compare Afghan restaurants to my momās cooking. The rice was so fluffy; the kebobs were juicy and flavorful. The bolani was so delicious. I love the leek one! The potato one is also so yummy! The chutney wasnāt spicy and the homemade yogurt with the bolani was such a good combo!!!
What I enjoyed most whatās the qabili. The lamb wasnāt fatty, the rice was tasty, carrots and raisins were just enough! You donāt want too much carrots and raisins because it will take the flavor from the rice and lamb.
The firni was a new item they released today when my family and I came over to try. If you enjoy custard, then this dessert is for you. Itās not too sweet. You can taste the notes of rose water and the flavor with the pistachios crumbled on top was perfect! I also like that there was two almonds on it too! It was really well balanced.
Overall, it was a great experience and the food was delicious. I liked how clean the restaurant was. They also have seating where you can sit on the floor like how Afghans traditionally eat. They have the pillows and rug! It honestly reminded me of family gatherings from when I was a child. Iām sure with time there will be more wall decor to make the restaurant even...

I visited Afghan Kabob House after seeing some positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was not what i expected. I wanted to order different items, but the manager/receptionist pushed us to order a platter instead. I went along with it, and while the food was decent, I was shocked when we were charged $125 for what I honestly believe was only worth around $70ā$80 as per there menu price. I have attached picture
On top of that, when I asked for a Coke or Pepsi, I was told they donāt serve those brands and were instead offering something called " Salaam Cola." The explanation was that they boycott American soda brands which surprised me. While I respect peopleās right to their beliefs, it felt strange for a business operating in the U.S. to push that choice on customers without alternatives.
Friendly warning to others: Ask for the prices before you order anything, especially if they steer you toward a platter. You might end up with a much higher bill...
