Avenue Pizzeria — Restaurant in Downey

I went during my lunch to pick up slice for myself and a coworker and didn’t have a good experience with the workers. After I ordered a women ordered after me and I stepped outside to wait for my food. The first issue was that when I went back in a few minutes after, bc I saw them opening the oven, I saw them taking out the order of the woman who ordered after me. I then saw that the they were only just putting in my two slices and I was told that my order would be out in a few minutes. I thought it was weird that they would put someone else’s order in even though I ordered first but that’s fine. The second issue was that when my order was finally ready instead of handing me my food laying horizontally they gave me my slices in two separate boxes vertically. I took my slices out and told them to keep the bag bc I didn’t want my food vertically. Since I laid it correctly I was able to save the cheese from sliding off before the pizza was completely messed up. The final issue was that as I walked away one of the workers felt the need to yell out something to me in a condescending tone. I didn’t quiet here exactly what he said but I know it was directed at me as their was no one else around to hear from me the window at the front. This seemed to me to be uncalled for. Came here on a weekday, relatively busy, no line, ordered a cheese pizza and a margarita pizza. Not really impressed by the slices they were really greasy, no consistency in the dough which maybe it so sloppy and did hold up. To call yourself NY style pizza is really a disgrace in comparison. The margarita pizza was just a cheese pizza with one sliced cherry tomato and two half leaves of basil, no fresh mozzarella balls. Doesn’t seem to have any good ingredients that give it a quality taste. To make it worse the fire alarm went off and the manager in charge just blamed it on some painter. It was really loud and annoying. It’s basically just a bar with really bad pizza. Paid a total of $18 for two bad slices and a beer. Over priced for bad quality. Wouldn’t consider coming back here. Also some rude customers came in and were using profanity really loud and being obnoxious didn’t enjoy the atmosphere inside. The only good thing about it were two employees with good...

As a chef I believe that the food was good needs a little bit of work but overall it's good. As far as service goes really great service especially your guys's server/ cashier Sophia amazing definitely keep her around bring some more clientele to your business on with her good looks and awesome service as far as everybody else and your kitchen is really good beers are okay but definitely a nice environment to Downey.
