Joseph's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Downey

The worst bar I have ever been to! Please stay away if you care about your safety. Bouncers and Owner Simon are recist and discriminated. Over the weekend we booked full VIP service at Josephs Bar and Grill for a party of 10 to celebrate my friend bday. When we arrived and the bouncers and management denied the entrance to 1 of our friends for being Mexican and not having a U.S passport. We agreed back and fourth stating that they needed to verify the age only not immigration status. We spoke to 1 owner and he allowed the entrance. The founders by the name of Carlos was extremely furious because our Mexican friend was granted the entrance by 1 of the owners. Little did we know he was seeking revenge. As soon as the owner and management left they attacked 1 of my friends and beat him down for defending our Mexican friend. They had no mercy. Downey PD did not help and discriminated as well. The story has been aired in local and popular news and radio stations. If u care about your safety, stay away. This bar has the worse bouncers and are a huge liability on their own. This restaurant was so much fun to go to. I came here at 8:45 PM with a party of six people and no reservation on a Saturday night. We got seated and served to so quickly without a reservation. I was so happy! I did not know that it turned into a Club after 10:30 PM. It was so awesome being able to eat and drink and only walk a few steps to the dance floor. The music was hip-hop, Reggaeton, and house music. I will definitely come back for another celebration. Now I know if I’m trying to celebrate last minute I can come here, and they’ll take care of me. The food was delicious and satisfying with our drinks. We got a couple rounds of shots throughout the night and a couple of more buckets of beer also. we ended up staying until they closed at 2 AM....

Horrible experience in this bar, when I got to the line they asked how many i said party of 6 they said ok wait time is a hour to 2 hours. Waited for a hour and a half for the security to ask again how many people we said 6 he said oh 6 and up you have to mandatory buy a bottle screaming with attitude ok so we said that’s fine will buy a bottle went to the other line which is bottle service only waited another hour to decide they don’t deserve our service and up spending $200 or more wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone terrible customer service and waiting is 2 hours or more and even then you might still not get in.
