Shake Shack Downey — Restaurant in Downey

Finally got around to trying this place out for the first time...wanted to see what all the hype was about. Ultimately I found their food a bit disappointing. Like most other reviews mention, the price to portion ratio was no bueno. If I'm paying more than $30 on a fast food meal, I'd at least expect it to be filling. Yes, the food quality was better than your average fast food joint, as you can tell they use fresh ingredients, but the burger was the size of a jr burger at Wendy's. If I'm eating fast food, it's usually for the convenience or value factor, which I'm not getting from SS. Would I eat here or at another SS again? Maybe, maybe not...but I don't think I'd ever go out of my way to do so. One thing they had going for them was their unique menu items that you won't find anywhere else, such as the banana pudding shake and spicy ranch fries. Tried them both, and both were meh...good, but...

For everyone complaining about price and portion size this is for you. If you never been to a Shake Shack, or to a new place in general wouldn’t you check the menu that has the prices? Everyone complaining thinking it’s just Downey but it’s every single Shake Shack.

As for someone who has eaten Shake Shack multiple times not once did it disappoint. Many people want another mcdonald’s guessing from the pricing they can’t afford. Nothing against if you can’t afford things but if you’re cheap you should definitely look at the prices before you eat somewhere.

Went here on the first day of its grand opening and very much enjoyed it. The staff was great checking up on us and seeing how things were going. Our meal was amazing. Burger tasted great and the fries were good. No complaining about this fast food my experience was great. Hoping to be back here soon if these bad reviews don’t make...

First off, the parking was easy because the lot was empty on a Saturday afternoon. It was easy to find seats because there was hardly anyone there. Still, the tables were dirty, and we had to clean it before sitting down.

At the register, there were 3 employees doing something 3 feet from us, and not one of them looked up and acknowledged us.

When the food came, it was very disappointing. Cheese fries had almost no cheese. Burgers were small and bland.

We ordered truffle fries, and they only had parmesan cheese sprinkled on with no truffle sauce. When I asked asked about it, the girl said, "It doesn't come with truffle sauce." I said that's what makes them truffle fries. She asked if i wanted to buy a side of truffle sauce. I said I just want what comes with my order. Eventually, they gave me a cup of sauce.

I love Shake Shack, but I will continue going to the farther location...
