I recently dined at the Lakehouse restaurant in Orlando, located within a large hotel. Initially, I had low expectations, assuming it would offer the standard semi-warm buffet-style food. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the exceptional service provided by the staff.
First and foremost, the freshness and temperature of the food impressed me. Unlike my initial assumption, the dishes were not only hot but also remarkably fresh. The flavors were well-balanced, and the variety of options available catered to different palates. It was evident that the kitchen staff took great care in preparing the meals.
One aspect that stood out during my visit was the restaurant's willingness to accommodate special orders. The staff was more than happy to customize dishes according to individual preferences. This level of flexibility added a personal touch to the dining experience, making it even more enjoyable.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by the wait staff. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to offer recommendations further enhanced the overall experience. The staff's dedication to providing top-notch service was truly commendable.
However, I must mention that the noise level in the restaurant was slightly higher than desired. This could be attributed to the bustling holiday season in December. While it didn't significantly impact my overall experience, it's worth noting for those seeking a quieter ambiance.
In conclusion, the Lakehouse restaurant in Orlando exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, hot, and surpassed the typical buffet-style fare. The staff's exceptional service and willingness to accommodate special requests added a personal touch to the dining experience. Although the noise level was slightly elevated, it didn't overshadow the overall excellence of the restaurant. I would highly recommend visiting the Lakehouse for a delightful...
Read moreI dined at the restaurant three times during my stay and ordered online once. The 1st night I had the tomato basil soup and the forest greens salad, both delicious. The service the 1st night was stellar. My only complaint is that the soup is noted as gluten-free on the menu, but I was told after it arrived that the lavash served with it is not gluten-free.
I had breakfast one morning, just a simple two-egg breakfast, the waiter never asked how I wanted my eggs, but other than that, the food tasted fine. The coffee was cold and when I asked for a replacement, it took forever to get and it was full of coffee grounds. The service was horrible. We waited a long time for our food and the waiter rarely returned to our refill water.
My 3rd experience was an online order. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a gluten-free bun. There is VERY limited space in the comments to request any deviation. So I couldn't write that the deep fried onions needed to be removed. I hoped that since I ordered a gluten-free bun, they would comprehend that I had a gluten allergy. But they did not.
My 4th experience was happy hour. The service was great, the drink I ordered came with regular rum, but I requested it be swapped for coconut rum, it was not. Then I ordered the gluten-free pasta Alfredo, the pasta arrived and I began eating, after many bites, the waiter stopped to check on us. I asked if he was sure the pasta I received was gluten-free, he said he would double-check with the chef. It turned out, it wasn't gluten-free. I waited an additional 20 minutes to have it re-made, my companions had already finished eating well before my food arrived. The waiter did comp my drink as compensation, however I had a very bad reaction to the small amount of gluten I did eat. I think that once you advise staff of an allergy and request a gluten-free alternative, you should no longer have to worry that...
Read moreI'll give LakeHouse a 4 mainly because the chef came out to meet us and showed how much he cared about the quality of the food and the service was good. The food presentation was also well done (especially the fried chicken) however there are some suggestions i would make to improve... 1- ahi tuna poke - overall nice combo of ingredients but way too much rice and not enough tuna.also there wasn't any of the typical tangy poke sauce? 2- crab deviled eggs - need a redo. These were bland not that tasty. 3- sushi - overall good for a non-suhsi restaurant. 4- ceaser salad - needs real Anchovies otherwise good presentation 5- shrimp chowder - people liked it 6- shrimp pasta - looks great and people liked shrimp but the pasta was largely unfinished bc lacked flavor 7- ribeye - a giant portion but missing something. 8- short ribs - very flavorful and melt in your mouth but quite rich and nobody was able to finish a full portion 9- fried chicken - great presentation in cast iron skillet but the chicken itself was not great. Breast portion was super small and rest of meat was hard to get too. Also the grits were a big fail - just got simple here with regular style grits. But the broccolini was good (but maybe add a bit of lemon to make it better) 10- Salmon - this was by far best thing on menu. 3 people got this in our group and all cleaned their plates!
Overall I think the menu also needs a few more options. Not enough choices for the entrees.
Best of...
