This was a well needed staycation for my husband and my one-year-old. I initially booked for the hopefully clean room and just free breakfast- But my husband and I were blown away. I’m a first time mom so hotel cleanliness is a bit of a nightmare for me. But I kid you not every inch of our room was spotless. The sheets were obviously freshly cleaned, counters wiped down and Sinks shining. They very obviously vacuum the floor too. I wasn’t worried at all, letting my one-year-old toddle about in the room. As for the room itself, we got the one bed king room. The bed was big enough for my husband who’s 6 foot, and had plenty of pillows. The room also came with two chairs and a table for eating, A set of drawers for clothes, A desk for work with an individual lamp And a spacious bathroom. Shower was extremely wide, Temperature was easily adjusted and perfect. Soap, conditioner, and shampoo were all provided and didn’t feel like cheap quality. They also had hooks right outside the shower- Something I’ve not seen before! No more leaving my towel on a potentially dirty counter! Although I wouldn’t have had a problem, leaving it on the counter at this hotel. When you walk into the room, there’s a small foyer featuring a mini fridge with adjustable temperature, A microwave, A safe- and an individual sink and coffee maker! As I said, I had my one year-old with me and was thankful beyond belief I had a sink other than the one located in the bathroom to wash any pacifiers or bottles. Moms- this hotel was made for us!
As for the amenities, I can really only speak on the hot breakfast and 530 kickback. We visited the Disney parks throughout the day, so my husband and I didn’t get to get full use out of the in hotel arcade Or gym- But throughout our stay, we saw numerous families about the hotel enjoying both. The pool is beautiful and they have a fantastic little splash pad for the kids. I didn’t see any views online really detailing how great the little splash pad was- so I didn’t plan to bring a bathing suit for my son or I- Otherwise, we would’ve been out there hours. As for the breakfast- My husband and I were absolutely thrilled. They seem to have eggs, Disney quality and shaped Mickey waffles, Sausage, Oatmeal with various toppings, Delicious mixed vegetables to add to your eggs, Plenty of vacation grade sugar cereal and a great pastry area with bagels, breads, and muffins, and spreads such as peanut butter, jelly & sour cream. My son and I are vegetarian, And I kid you not- We absolutely ate till our stomachs were bursting! My son particularly enjoyed the yoghurt with a blueberry muffin and banana. The 530 kickback is the reason I will always book drury. As I said before I’m vegetarian so I wasn’t expecting a whole lot- But each day we stayed there was a fantastic vegetable soup, Nachos with plenty jalapeños, Different pastas with the meat separated from the past, so there was no crossover- I was thrilled. My husband who eats meat Particularly enjoyed taco night, And loaded his plate, at least three times! And even on taco night that was a delicious corn, salsa, and black beans! So I could join in! We also got three alcoholic drinks each per kickback. This would’ve easily ran us over $150 if we were to drink in the Disney parks. They have a variety of drinks to choose from- And I genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere of families bustling about. Everyone was eating drinking and enjoying their day.
Overall, if you’re looking for a place that values your dollar and buisness- pick the drury. Every member of staff we spoke to was worth their weight in gold- multiple times asking if we needed help with anything or if they could help our day go smoother. The breakfast alone was phenomenal- But the 530 kickback with drinks? They have a customer for life with my family. I’ve recommended the drury to at least six people since coming back. If I had any issues with the cleanliness, Food or buses(Which are complementary and they hand you a daily schedule of- fantastic! They go to all Disney parks!) I have no doubt they...
Read moreWe just returned from a 10 night stay at the Drury Plaza Disney Springs Hotel. Overall, a great trip. We are a family of 5. 3 reasons to stay here: 1) early entry perks for Disney Parks 2) punctual shuttle service to the Disney Parks 3) included breakfast.
Room: We stayed in a suite that had 2 queen beds and a sofa bed. Beds were comfortable, I woud call them medium. Sofabed was ok for kids, not for adults. Bathroom is has a tub and shower. Room had 3 sinks: one in the outer room that has the sofa bed, one in between the bedroom and outer room and one inside of the bathroom. Air conditioning worked well. When you first walk in there is a long granite countertop with one of the sinks, a mini fridge and a small microwave. We had 3 issues with our room: 1) The mini fridge is very small. Really too small. We would have preferred a bigger fridge. Not enough room to store food and drinks 2). With the sofabed open there is no room to get to the long counter with the fridge and microwave. The sofabed when opened is only a food from this long counter. Wish they would have added a few additional feet onto the room when it was constructed. 3) No cabinet space/place to put away clothes. There are 3 tiny drawers for clothes and a very small/narrow closet. The closet is only big enough to hold about 5 hangers.
Breakfast/Dinner: Breakfast is included with your stay. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, make your own Mickey waffles, plain oatmeal, toast, bagels, dry cereal, canned fruit salad, fresh apples, oranges and bananas, biscuits and gravy. For drinks you can find milk, coffee, almond milk (if you ask the staff for it), apple juice and other juices, ice water. The only thing missing (and I'm being picky) is there aren't any sweet danishes/muffins etc. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning. No issues.
Dinner: We had dinner 2 or 3 times at the hotel. I'll be honest, the dinner isn't great. I had low expectations and they were in line with what was there. One night we had soggy chicken tenders and mashed potatoes, another night pulled pork sliders. No dessert is offered. Again, mediocre food. Even our kids asked to go elsewhere for dinner. But it is a savings if you aren't picky.
We don't drink so we can't say much about the free alcoholic beverages. You get a card at check in and each adult can get up to 3 adult beverages each evening.
Popcorn is also popped each afternoon.
Shuttle to parks: Unlike other hotels, the Drury has 4 buses that are owned by the hotel. The bus drivers are Drury employees. This means no stopping at other hotels. Buses run on time. It sticks to the schedule. We thought the shuttles were great. Absolutely no issues with them whatsoever. If you plan to do early entry, simply take the first bus which will get you there in plenty of time to line up for early entry. Sometimes a bus will stop at 2 parks in the morning. You will still get there plenty early for early entry. Buses are reliable.
Early Entry to Disney Parks: When we went staying at the Drury included early entry to the Disney parks. We used the shuttles and made it there in plenty of time.
Pool area: Nice pool area, lots of towels.
Surrounding area: Disney springs is in walking distance but you can also take the bus. You need an uber to get to the outlets. There is an urgent care in walking distance.
Tips: -There is no need to buy bottled water because you can get free ice water at breakfast and fill your water bottle. There are also ice machines in the hotel. -Delivery from Walmart using the Walmart+ service was easy and convenient. -Bring ziploc bags to put bagels/dry food in to bring to the park if you are in a rush because the breakfast area only has metal flatware and ceramic plates.
Overall, we would consider staying here again if going to Disney and the hotel was still offering early entry perks and...
Read moreMy experience at the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista was absolutely fantastic, and this review is long overdue. Having travelled to Orlando countless times over the years, I decided to try the Drury on my last trip in July 2023, and I couldn’t be happier with that decision.
We arrived at the Drury around 3:00 PM and were informed that our room wasn't ready yet. Traveling with two young children aged 1 and 2.5, who were exhausted from a long day of travel, we walked around the hotel while we waited to get a feel for the place. Around 4:00 PM, I approached the front desk, not to complain, but to ask if our room would be ready soon. If not, we planned to go to my sister’s room, where she had already checked in, to get our kids ready for the pool and keep them entertained.
The staff immediately sprang into action, checking with housekeeping for updates. The assistant manager came to see us and kindly offered a $150 credit on our bill for the inconvenience, assuring us that our room would be ready as soon as possible. Shortly after, I received a personal call from the manager asking me to come to the front desk and ask for him. When I arrived, he informed me that due to the inconvenience (keep in mind it was only around 4:30 PM, not long after the usual check-in time), they were offering the first night of our stay for free. This was the Fourth of July, a particularly busy and expensive night for the hotel, and they just removed it from the bill. When I mentioned the $150 credit already offered by the assistant manager, he said, "Yes, I see that. That's fine. You will get both." He then personally inspected our room to ensure it wasn't rushed before we went in. WOW! This level of customer service was simply impeccable and left me completely impressed.
Our 1-bedroom suite was clean and comfortable, with no complaints whatsoever. After settling in, we decided to check out the 5:30 Kickback. My youngest son has allergies to eggs, dairy, peanuts, and sesame, and I was concerned about finding safe options for him. However, the manager on duty walked me around and informed me about which items were safe for him to eat. This care continued throughout our 9-day stay, with each night and breakfast manager providing information on safe foods, sometimes even bringing ingredient lists for the products they served. As a mom constantly worried about allergy incidents, this service was invaluable.
The food at the Kickbacks was generous, delicious, and saved us money by allowing us to have smaller dinners later. The staff greeted us with such happiness and kindness every time we walked by the front desk after our initial check-in issue, always with a smile, wishing us a lovely day and remembering our names. Despite the review being a year late, the details of this experience remain vivid in my memory. The food, drinks, and early access to Disney were wonderful bonuses, but it was the staff who truly brought the Disney magic to life. They are irreplaceable and deserve high praise. Bravo, Drury! WOW.
A few notable mentions: Jonathan at the bar, who always had a fantastic smile and helped us find great new drinks to try; Marisia, the night manager at the restaurant, who was the first to help with my son’s allergies; and Courtni at the front desk, who quickly escalated my check-in issue to the assistant manager and kept us informed about our room status. There are many more exceptional employees I’m forgetting, but overall, every staff member we encountered was pleasant, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile.
Drury doesn’t need to spend money on advertisements because their staff are the true gems, and guests like me will provide more than enough positive word-of-mouth. I’ll choose Drury properties every...
