It was SUPPOSED to be my regular daily trip to Starbucks. I pulled into the drive thru, fully planning to buy my regular bag of coffee beans. But when I got to the speaker, they didn’t have what I always order. So I sad very kindly - "oh man that stinks, okay when will you have it in" -they say 3 more days, I say "okay, no problem. Well since I'm here and stuck in a long line please can I just get a venti iced water."
All of a sudden, the manager gets on the intercom out of nowhere the second I ask for water and treats me like I’m some kind of criminal just for asking for a cup of water. She tells me I cannot get a cup of water unless I make a purchase. I told her — I had every intention of making a purchase, but the problem is you don’t have the item I always get from you. That’s on Starbucks, not me. Plus I'm stuck in line, there is no way to get out of line.
She kept insisting, “Sorry, it’s company policy.” Over and over. And I told her, look, I can’t even leave the line. I’m literally trapped. I’m here trying to make my usual $15 purchase for a bag of STARBUCKS coffee beans... you’re the ones who can’t provide, and instead of making it right, you’re refusing me a simple cup of water.
I’ve worked at 3 different Starbucks stores myself, and I would never, ever, ever treat a customer the way this manager treated me — especially an extremely loyal returning customer who lives and breathes Starbucks daily... The way she handled it was rude, dismissive, arrigant and absolutely ridiculous. She couldn’t even recognize she was in the wrong and her complete arrogance to someone who was so kind and gentle with them the whole time.
I’m ashamed that this is a MANGER representing the Starbucks name. Management is supposed to know how to make things right for the customer — not push them away over something as small as a cup of water. Whoever is managing this store as of August 30, 2025 is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE for the Starbucks brand and should not be at Starbucks, or in any management position, ever. I’ve been in management for over 8 years and after 2 mins of talking with her I could see she needs to...
Read moreUnfriendly muppets!! I came here at around 2:00 pm on February 11th. As I waited to place my order, the workers saw me but didn't acknowledge me. After 5 minutes, someone came up and took my order. I ordered an iced coffee and then I waited 15 minutes. I finally went up and asked where my iced coffee was. The one who took my order was now on bar. She asks, "you never got your order?" I said, "No. Maybe that's it" and I pointed at an iced coffee by the drive thru window. She checked it and it was mine. She handed it to me without apologizing, not to mention not saying thank you. She hasn't said thank you to one single customer over the past 30 minutes while I've been here. She also hasn't read out anyone's name even though the cashier is taking names. I was in a good mood because I just passed a job interview and now I'm in a bad mood. The girl on bar that put my drink by the drive thru window and hasn't said any customer's names or thank you to anyone has a Spanish look to her, along with short, dyed pink hair. The one on register who didn't say 'thank you to me' or apologize, is Caucasian with tons of makeup on and bright red lipstick. They probably acted super friendly and excited during the interview even though that's their not real character. In other words, they tricked the interviewer and got hired. If a manager was here, they would probably be friendly to the customers. That's what people who have poor character and no integrity do. Integrity is doing the right thing or being kind when no...
Read moreI’m a person who likes to write good reviews. In fact, I’ve personally written the manager at my local Starbucks in college park to say what a good job the team does there. So, it’s not often that I have a complaint, but this Starbucks is the worst and it seems to trickle down from management to the hourly employees. The employees are by far the coldest and detached SBX workers I have encountered. I’m forced to go to this Location as it is the only one near my work. I’ve often gone in for a refill of iced coffee with no issue, but today was humiliated by the man running the cash register when he exclaimed loudly and in a condescending tone that he would have to charge me full price. Before saying that he just starred at me for a minute and made me uncomfortable. I guess he gets off on treating people with disrespect. I told him I had never been told that SBX charges for refills of iced coffee to which he proclaimed loudly that is was now a “company wide policy, but he would give me my drink for free this time” to which I responded “No, thank you. I don’t need your refill.” I walked out feeling humiliated. Thanks for ruining my day, Sandlake Starbucks. Hope it...
