Update 01/16/2025: I’ve had great experiences at this bar in the past. However, my recent visit was disappointing due to poor customer service.
While I was texting someone and briefly on a call using speakerphone, the bartender approached me and informed me that I couldn’t have my phone on speaker. I understand that bars may have house rules, and I quickly stopped texting and finished the call without the speaker, which only took a few seconds. There was no one sitting near me, just two people far behind me and a couple on the patio, so the noise wasn’t disruptive.
Regardless, I respected the rule.
The bigger issue was the overall lack of communication and attentiveness. I arrived around 9:45 PM, and Google lists their closing time as 11 PM. However, by 10:26 PM, they handed me my check and began closing down the bar. I had only ordered one drink and wasn’t informed beforehand that they were planning to close early. While I understand it might have been a slow night and staff work on tips, most good bartenders communicate this in advance and offer a last call courtesy to customers.
The bartender skills are good but he lacks customer service. This is my neighborhood bar, and I came back because of my previous great experiences. I hope they improve their customer service so others don’t face similar disappointments.

Thank you for pouring 1.5 Oz spirit, unlike other Utah...
Read moreI’ve always loved Seabird and was excited to bring friends tonight, but I left so disappointed. Coming from Draper, where there aren’t many great craft cocktail spots, I’d raved about their drinks. Our group of six all ordered the same cocktail to keep it simple. When we asked to pay separately, the bartender sighed and said, “Well, that’s extremely annoying.”
That comment really surprised us. Still, we split the tab between two cards to make it easier and I tipped, even though I didn’t feel inclined to after being called “annoying.” As we were leaving, I double-checked that I’d closed my tab. After I walked away, the bartender told my friend I hadn’t tipped. I had, so I went back to clarify. He then said, “Oh yeah, thanks for the 6%.” For the record, it was 12%, not my usual 20%, but I’d just been insulted.
I’m honestly sad. I’ve always recommended Seabird, but this experience felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. Being called “annoying” for wanting to split a check and then having my tip mocked was unnecessary and rude. I hope the team takes this seriously, guests should never be made to feel this way. Unfortunately, our group won’t...
Read moreIdk why we just drove 40 minutes with 4 cars to come to seabird at 1155pm only to find it closed when the listed hours are 1am. This is frustrating. Set your hours correctly or just shut the location down.
EDIT: idk if they changed their policies now or wat, I understand leaving early due to no business and it costs money to stay there. But- unfortunately consistency is important when in this industry. You can't shut the doors 2 hours early just because its dead. I skipped this place for nearly a year+ and drove north because you couldn't be certain the place would be open. We started going back and over the last 4 or 5 visits they have been staffed and open within their listed hours.
I highly recommend visiting this place for a quality craft cocktail. Draper needs this place as there are no alternatives.
I absolutely LOVE this place, staff and drinks are great. Previous review was strictly because they managed to waste a ton of patrons time by inviting them in with their listed hours only to find locked doors.
Don't go back to that...
