Always better to get a review from a resident which will be more accurate than a tourist's 1-time stop. We loved O'Rourke's in 2012. They used to have breakfast, visiting with Jim, the owner, was enjoyable, atmosphere and food was dependable. Being short-staffed has been over-used to excuse bad service. Except for a few, the servers are young and lack training to the point of being rude. We have been tolerant over the years but last night was the absolute worst. 30 minutes after being seated we begged the hostess to get us something to drink, at least. 30 minutes later still not seeing our server we asked the hostess who we had to practically leap from our table to get her attention to ask for the manager since we had not seen our server; not a hello, an apology or anything. She was snide saying our server is really busy with her large group in the other room; this was the 2nd time she told us this. The manager is the bartender if we want we could go talk to her & walked off. Our server finally came about 15 minutes after that when we saw the hostess say something to her. So 1.25 hrs sitting there waiting to be acknowledged, have our order taken. The meal came within a reasonable time & was hot. This was the worst service. There is no excuse. What I have written is factual and not exaggerated. Our server had us and the table next to us and the large group in the other room. Another server was taking care of 2 tables next to us and could easily have helped us. The division of tables made no sense. It was inefficient, poor management & horrible customer service. Service has always been slow but this time won the prize and...
Read moreWe visited O’Rourke’s Bar and Grill in Driggs last week while vacationing in the Jackson Hole and Idaho area. My brother had been before and raved about the pizza, so we decided to give it a try—and I’m glad we did.
The pizza was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the recommendation. We had a large group and took up several tables, and the staff did a great job accommodating us. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, a great place to unwind after a day of hiking or exploring the area.
One thing that stood out, though: it appeared that one of the tables we needed to use was originally taken by the owner or some of their friends, and they were asked to move to make space for our group. While they did move, it was hard not to notice that they seemed visibly annoyed. It felt a little awkward and surprising—you’d expect the owners to put guests first without hesitation, especially when accommodating a large group.
That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The food was great, the service was friendly, and I’d still recommend O’Rourke’s if you're in Driggs and looking for a solid meal in a laid-back setting. Just maybe don’t show up with a dozen people unless...
Read moreI don't typically feel inclined to actually leave a review but I just had a really solid meal. The cook on grill was on point today, perfectly cooked my burger. Fairly basic burgers but the meat is pretty high quality and they cook it perfectly. Highly recommend getting a burger from here . I really wanted to love the onion rings but it just didn't click with me. ( I'm willing to believe it's just the fryer oil they use,I'm kinda sensitive to most besides tallow ). Solid ranch, unsure if it's homemade or just store bought. I got an apple pie as dessert and while it was really good,it wasn't anything too special.
My biggest factor for a 5 star rating is that I still feel great after eating a full meal. Most of the time,I feel pretty weighed down after eating but I only continued to feel better as the food was digested. Solid environment and the whole FOH staff seemed fairly attentive and...
