TL:DR - Clean restaurant with great customer service and tasty, boutique-style tacos with many flavorful options (including breakfast)!
I wish I had gotten the young lady’s name working the counter. She was friendly and very helpful to a first time customer. I was in around 1030 am on 5/29/22, please give her a shout out for me! The young man that brought us our food was very friendly as well. Good service goes a long way these days and these two should know they did well!
Very surprised at how good the flavor was here. I had the Green Chili Carnitas, The Brushfire, and The Cougar, all on flour tortillas. Tortillas were about 5 inches around and fluffy. A bit thicker than homemade but tasty. They did not get soggy which was definitely great.
The Green Chili Carnitas had a great taste with mild but flavorful heat, just the right salty taste and a generous portion. Very satisfying!
The Brushfire is a Jamaican jerk chicken with a mango topping. This was my absolute favorite. This one was filled and topped generously as well. The chicken was tender and moist. The jerk seasoning came right through with lots of great flavor but was not overpowering and worked well with the mango. The moderate heat was at the perfect level! Enough to give it a really good kick but not so much that you can no longer feel your tongue and you’re left wanting for more drink. The Brushfire is a flavor you could definitely get a random craving for later!
The Cougar was the disappointment. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t as well balanced as the others. Like the others, it had a generous helping of meat and topping. The brisket was shredded, moist, and flavorful. However the BBQ sauce and the brisket pretty much overpowered everything and that’s about all I could taste. Never detected even a hint of the chipotle sauce. I don’t think the fried red onions helped the situation. It also didn’t help that the BBQ sauce was more heavily placed on one side than the other so the first bite was quite overwhelming. It wasn’t horrible, just didn’t standout like the others.
All in all, I’m happy we stopped in and I would definitely come back to try some more of the many flavor varieties they...
Read moreI've been coming here since it opened. they seem to always forget something, like when you tell them not to put something on a taco, or no diablo on the queso, or extra cheese, etc. They are also a little slower to put out food compared to other torchys, even when there's no line and hardly any customers in the store. Last night they added diablo my queso when told not to, the chips were cold and stale, and they completely forgot about my churros, again, for the 3rd visit. When asked about them, the cashier grabbed a bag that had been sitting on the cold metal counter for at least 20 minutes. They were broken, squished, missing a few pieces and the sauce was gone. When asked if they had any sauce, the cashier said they were out. When my wife showed me the bag and told me what had happened, I flagged down an employee at the bar named Logan. I told him my experience about the churros and it was the third time, and that they were cold, broken, missing pieces and missing sauce and asked him nicely if there was a way that he could make it right. He immediately said i'll make you a fresh batch and see if we are in fact out of sauce. With command authority he walked into the kitchen and summoned a fresh hot batch that was readily available, and added not one, but two sauces (which were also readily available). He was in the back for no longer than 30 seconds. Logan, you are the man. Logan is the bartender and while this wasn't his direct responsibility, he took immediate charge over the situation and did what it took to make the customer happy. Hats off to Logan, he is a fine asset to your Belterra establishment. I realize there are younger perhaps high school students working the kitchen, and help is hard to come by these days but please remind them to promote due diligence while at work, i.e. look a little harder at the tickets to ensure food accuracy and a little less at their...

This is the 4th time I've used curbside and the order is between 15 - 30 minutes late. You read that right. I've sat and watched other orders be delivered before mine. I always think that 'that was a fluke', but it turns out it's this location. I arrive early; food is late. I arrive on time food is late; I arrive late... Food is EVEN LATER! The tacos ultimately are the only reason we come back. The kids that work there are very friendly, but I suspect not motivated and experienced enough to understand customer satisfaction. I had a conversation (civil) with the manager the last time this happened, and he said 'there is no excuse for an order to be 30 minutes late especially at 3:30 PM, we aren't busy.' This order today I made at 8:45 AM; arrived at 9:00 AM; order was due at 9:15. I got my order at 9:35. 'something went wrong with the fire' but somehow the vehicle next to me got their order. The other vehicle showed up after me, and left before. I even tip extra thinking perhaps the workers would pay attention, but nope. I understand some issues, but this is the 4th and last time. I feel ridiculous for even commenting that I've been back so many times after the horrible wait times.
Quality is good, the people are nice, there is just no effort on speed. I'm not talking about ... Oh man that's was 4 minutes for a taco!... I'm talking 15-20 minutes for egg+cheese tacos. Think about that. 3* Egg and cheese tacos with nothing else, and it takes 20 minutes? Oh and here's the kicker, it was dead, and they opened 20 minutes earlier ( which is another gripe... 8:15 am?! C'mon). :( :(
This location is just not up to snuff for the torchys name, but the tacos are good.
If you don't mind waiting, then this is the torchys...
