We were on a road trip, and our crew decided on Cracker Barrel because they have a little bit of everything to offer. We had some extra time, so our family of 5 said, "Why not?" We were seated quickly, and our orders were taken. That was about as good as it gets. It took waaaaaaaay too long to get our food. Around 45 min. That may be normal, but I feel it was a bit much. Ok, no problem, food will just be hot and ready. We were told that the biscuits would be out soon. Ok, great! So our order finally came, and what a disappointment. It wasn't very good at all. The mac and cheese was burnt on top and was like mush. The steamed broccoli was cold and not fully cooked. Steak fries weren't all the way done. Mashed potatoes tasted awful and not edible. Everything was over salted. At this point, we were hoping the biscuit would still make an appearance. Nope...were told 3 different times that they would be out...so other waiters brought Biscuits to the tables all around, but we were overlooked. Didn't have 1 drink refilled through the entire salty process, and now we are just finished and ready to leave. Waitress brings our bill and asks to discount one of the kids' meals because the biscuit with his meal never arrived, and yet again....they were coming out. She asked if we wanted to just take them with us, "Sure, let's do that." They came out, and omg, they are burnt. Absolutely the worst. Left cracker barrel with 50 bucks lighter and still hungry. Yea, I guess you could say this is the last time we will try this place.

Update Sept 2023: Recommend the barrel bites (2 for $8.99 currently). We got the fried pickles & the loaded hashbrown casserole tots (pictured). Our server was absolutely marvelous! She even joked around with us like we were old friends. Having a friendly server makes the whole eating out experience much better. Our food was brought out quickly, it was correct, food was hot, our drinks were never empty (even got some to go). A great experience all around. Original review: Put our name in for a table and was told it would be a 45 minute wait. That was expected for a Saturday evening. It ended up only being MAYBE 10 minutes before we were seated (the text message notification system is neat too). Server was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. Only complaint was that we asked for mushy broccoli and it was still crunchy (edible, just not the texture preference). Our server offered to get us another batch, but we said it wasn't necessary. Manager was even out of the floor to bus tables and asking people if their food was good. He was very friendly as well - chatted with us a bit.

Very sweet server but very poorly managed restaurant. They were out of fries, grits, rice and even utensils - took 15 minutes to get utensils after asking three times and then finally getting up and going to the hostess stand where they apologized and said they think (?) people were cleaning them now in the back. Very short staffed or just not the most efficient or effective team as they were unable to keep up with dishwashing. When the utensils finally arrived they were so dirty that we simply boxed our food and just ate it at our hotel. I understand that ordering and forecasting food is tricky and thus why so many things were out but the entire staff was just really struggling to manage at this restaurant. I felt bad for the server who was so embarrassed on behalf of her establishment.

People, please stay closer and watch your children. I stopped a child from being abducted. My parents & I saw signs for Cracker Barrel. We exited the ramp. There wasn't one. I had to use the restroom badly and couldn't hold it, so we stopped at this one. Mom/I went to the restroom, and there was this little girl named Aurora. I was awaiting a stall to open up. There, I saw this little girl who kept opening up a stall door/ someone else shutting it/ was an elder lady inside w/her. After I was finished using the restroom, the woman was hovering over her. I thought they're together (something didn't seem right) until the father opened the woman's door/ yelled for the girl. No reply. I said hey shut the door please. I immediately began observation of the woman/ girl. My mom held the door open/ he asked her if there was a girl w/glasses on, she replied yes, I immediately looked at the girl and asked is this your daddy? She didn't reply. Now, i see the scarce look in her eyes. I stuck my hand out to her, motioned for her to come to me, and it's alright i said, "Come here, it's okay." I need you to tell me if this is your daddy." Ineed you to go to your daddy. The elderly women had a look that could kill. I did not care. So finally I said, "Come here/ go to your daddy/ she." She finally came to me, I walked out behind her. Then, I asked him, "You're w/that lady? He said,"What lady? I pointed at her, and I got loud for others to know. He replied No. That lady, another elderly woman & elderly man, were in on it. They didn't leave until when I was. I believe God put me in the right place at the right time, or another child would've been abducted. Parents, be careful. If your children need to use the restroom, you either go inside w/ child or stand outside that door & pay attention. I think the lady was taking pictures of her. Keep an eye on your children! Teach your children! In the last 4 years, the number of abducted trafficked children has increased since our boarders have opened, crazies get to roam free, and violence has tripled. People getting robbed in daylight, tape is a norm, and those who speak or against are the ones that get punished. Americans & all others w/children, start standing up as living parents or guardians. We're the voices for these children! Stay Safe, Stay...

My husband and I went prior to Cracker Barrel (located at 1131 Fashion Ridge Rd, Dry Ridge, KY 4103). What a mistake.

Everything started out okay. My husband ordered the grandma pancake breakfast with scrambled eggs well, and 2 of the $5.00 carry out chicken and macroni specials. My husband requested the complimentary apple butter jam and biscuits he is accustomed to getting at other Cracker Barrels througout the U.S. I ordered nothing as I didn't see anything i liked. Not unusual for me.

His eggs were flat and dry looking as if they were powered eggs. Instead of chicken and macaroni. The server brought him chicken and potatoes and asked him if this "was okay." Not being like me or wanting to make a fuss, my hussband decided to accept the carry out as prepared as long as he could get brown gravy for the pitatoes. We were given the check to pay 10 minutes into meal. No one came to check to see if we needed anything else.

The server finally brought the brown gravy and I was able to inquire about the charge on the bill. She said that it was customary. Told her I think it should be since they did the order wrong and to talk it back and remove it from my ticket. No problem.

When she came back with the new ticket, in place of the gravy, the complimentary apple l e butter jelly had been added ( was not there originally). I questioned why and she got rude. I asked for the manager. This was a matter of principal.

It' bad enough the server had an attitude over my money, it's even worst that this Cracker Barrel continued to try to pad the bill, and had us doing things like finding the server to even get a carry out box.

Instead of the manager coming out, the server came back with the corrected bill, slapped it on the table and left.

My husband said I need to remember the environment I was in (all white) and we were just a few of the people of color there. UNACCEPTABLE! I can't look at the world this way. I would never go back to this place nor recommend it. Why should anyone start their day off or spend hard earn money in a place like this. Find someone else to eat and...

March 17, 2025- We had 3 adults and 2 children in our party. After waiting 10 minutes for a hostess to greet us we were taken to a table. The basket of bread brought to our table was full of BURNT biscuits and dry cornbread. My mother in law had to ask the server for another basket of fresh biscuits. My mother ordered the Catfish dinner with a baked potato. The server stated that she thought they were out of sour cream. It wasn’t until her meal was brought out that she was told they were out of baked potatoes and asked if she wanted a different side. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner with okra, hashbrown casserole and pinto beans. The pinto beans were SO dried out and thick that they were cracked on top and I literally tipped the bowl over to show the server that they wouldn’t even fall out of the bowl. The hashbrown casserole was overcooked and dry. The shrimp had been fried and was stuck together in clumps of 2-3 shrimp causing all batter between each shrimp to be gummy and un-cooked. My son ordered the kids chicken tenders which were dry and overcooked, he wasnt able to chew them and settled for eating my friend okra. Also my mother and son ordered a sweet tea with lemon that tasted like lemonade almost as if someone poured half lemonade or squeezed multiple lemons into the glass. We notified the server several times of our disappointment and she either did not care or was embarrassed because she had no response or explanation for us. When checking out the cashier asked how the meal was and my mother let him know that we were beyond disappointed and he did nothing about it. Based on others reviews and the response from the staff that day, it’s clear that this location is very poorly managed and quite frankly doesn’t give a crap what customers think.

Dry Ridge is a small town that doesn’t have many options beyond fast food. Typically Cracker Barrel is the ONE restaurant that you can count being dependable on while traveling, but this particular Cracker Barrel is...
